I'm clearly late to the party with 15 pages of posts and still 7 months to go. I already posted on the roll call over at Cruise Critic, but this is my first post on the disboards.
I don't know what a FE is or if I would participate... I also don't know how to make a permanent signature...lol but looking forward to getting to know some of you!

Hay you guys keep your cold weather up there![]()
Pretty sure we are renting a car. We will be there the weekend before to visit parks so we will need a car. We'll just drop it off before we board, hopefully nice and early. But this is our first cruise so I'm not 100% sure what that looks like.Next question is about transportation to the port from the resort. I really don't feel much like doing the Disney transfer although the price is right. I don't want to go at a time they set for me, I want to choose my own time. I've priced out sedan service and it's more than double.
What are your thoughts? Anyone done anything really successful?

Okay, I need a new cruise countdown ticker for my siggie. I don't like how mine still says 7 months and everyone else is 6 months, 3 weeks and 5 days. That sounds much shorter LOL!
because when your on the beach line express headed toward the ship when you go over the bridge and see the Disney Ship and the kids go nuts
that's when you know you are the best parents around.
I'm lurking on y'all's thread even though my cruise is a week later. I have also been wondering about the whole MCO > Canaveral thing. I don't really want to do the cattle bus or other big shuttles. I also haven't done this before. One-way rentals from MCO to the port seem doable, but I don't know how it works out in reality when you're trying to get to and from that rental agency for the drop off and shuttle to the port. (Basically 'shuttle' always makes me nervous.) I was thinking of starting a thread myself, but I'll see if others here have input. Some people make it sound like it's a total breeze, some a nightmare (a recent trip report mentions a full hour of waiting for port shuttles at Budget, only to have the shuttles mobbed).
I also wonder if, in that 'nightmare' scenario at Budget above, if I could just call a taxi to take me from the rental car office to the port?
We arrive on Saturday into MCO late in the day and then are doing MK on Sunday so we really don't need a car. We will be renting at the port on the way back though.
That would be a good meet and greet
We do have a pirate costume and a different one is being made for Halloween[/QUOT
Do you have your plans set yet?
Plans? lol
Are you going to the parks? where ya staying etc...
We live in Mississippi and its only an 11-12 hour drive...
