I too have alot of memories about my dad and your stories helped me to remember even more!! Thanks!!!
Until I was 5 my dad worked out of town mostly but boy did I enjoy the postcards and special presents he would bring home.
My dad is very hands on, loves to build things and what most of you would call "tinkering", he has a way to fix anything.
He taught me how to check the oil and the tires on the car and was always ready to play some one on one b-ball when i made the team in middle school. My dad went on a field trip, to a baseball game.....(this is a big thing)my dad hates sports.
There was a time that my dad worked the night shift so he was leaving while I was at school and coming home very late, he would get up extra early in the morning just to go to breakfast with me before school we would share the latest music and reminise on what he grew up with. Now my parents have a harley and my DD get's to go with him on the motorcycle to breakfast on the weekends. He is my dd's special friend or as she calls him "her pal"!!!!
My dad is extra special to me let me explain in one last story.....
When I was 2 my dad was in an accident....he fell several feet from a scafolding(sp) he lost the sight in his right eye, has pins in his elbow, was in a coma for a few days. I remember visiting him at the hospital and sitting very gently in his lap. A few years ago a 20 foot cement wall fell and pinned him underneath now he has pins in his foot......Yes he is full of pins but he's alive and he's the best dad I could have ever asked for!!!
Thank you Maggie!!!!
