I left my last employer over a year ago and I knew that I would probably have to pay back a portion of the money they funded for my tuition as I wasn’t staying long enough to cover the contract. There were a lot of other circumstances that lead to me leaving including some higher ups doing some shady things (that they got caught for). I got notified today that my bill from my previous employer was sent to collections but the employer never invoiced me for it until now. I don’t want this to affect my flawless credit report! What should I do?

Thanks. I don’t want this to post to my credit report. I’ve never had a late payment so hopefully I can get them to not report this and they’ll just let me pay it.
