Hi ladies,
I am getting my hair and makeup done on my wedding day by Beaute Speciale and I am trying to decide between regular and airbrush makeup. My skin is really sensitive and my regular foundation is the only one that I have tried that hasn't made my skin have a reaction. If I stick with regular makeup they can use my own foundation, correct? But not with airbrush?

I was just wondering what previous brides with sensitive skin thought? If you have sensitive skin, what type of makeup did you use, and how did you find it being on your skin all day?

I am so afraid of getting makeup done and my skin having a freak-out reaction to it. And I cannot do a trial because I won't be getting to Florida until a few days before the wedding.

Thank you for your help!

I have horribly sensitive skin. My skin freaks out if the wind blows too hard in my face, it'll get all red and splotchy.

I had the airbrush makeup and I had no problems with it. It is hypoallergenic according to the website. I would just ask Beaute Special if it's hypoallergenic. On Patricia Lejeune's website it stated that the one she uses is. It's very light and I barely knew it was on.

I have very sensitive skin, and rosacea. I had Beaute Especiale do my makeup. I originally asked Anna to do air brush makeup, but we decided to do regular makeup on that day and it looked and felt great -- I normally can only wear Clinique so I was a bit concerned, but it was all just fine... very light and natural.

Thank you both for your replies!

That is a great idea, I will definitely ask her and make sure it is hypoallergenic. I am sure that they have to deal with this all of the time, but I just wanted some opinions to make myself feel better anyways lol

That is great to hear. I am glad it worked out for you and I am sure I should be fine with their products.

I know that Patricia (and most likely Ana) uses a hypo-allergenic makeup. Patricia uses MAC, which is what I use all the time normally. Often that's used in Broadway as well since it does so well with people and is stay-fast (ex. turning Elphaba green in Wicked). It's the only makeup, other than clinique, that I found that doesn't cause a reaction in me! If you're really scared, have her try a test sample of the airbrush makeup (with out actually airbrushing it) on the back of your hand or just under your chin line at the beginning of the appointment. If you haven't broken out by the time she's done with your hair, you should be fine! And if you do, a small area should be easy to clean and cover. Definitely let her know, and I'm sure she'll know what's best.

As a dancer, I completely agree with you about the benefits of MAC makeup! It is wonderful. I am not sure however which kind Ana uses. I really like your idea about doing a test spot at the very beginning of the appointment. I will probably talk to Ana before, but I think I will still get her to give that a try on the day, just to make sure! Thank you so much for your reply!

I had Patricia for the wedding day and Beaute Special on the following day for the magic kingdom pics.

Like ColeV, I use MAC at home because it doesn't irritate my skin and stays forever. I can't remember what brand BS used on me the following day, but it didn't iritate my skin at all, no breakouts, splotchiness or anything. It did feel heavier than the MAC though.

If you don't feel comfortable going with ColeV's suggestion, you could always call them up and ask what they use, and then see if you can find it at your local stores and do your own at-home test before even getting down to Disney.

Thank you for your reply! I am feeling a lot better now. I know that they must deal with sensitive skin all of the time - they are professionals - but I get so self-conscious about my skin that it worries me. Thank you for your suggestions!
