Sensing Pixie Dust I Am! A Star Wars Weekend PTR! New PTR Link pg. 77!

Thanks for the lesson!

Wow, your run-down of Star Wars lingo was awesome!

I was in heaven one year when we visited during Star Wars Weekends, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire was still a show at DHS. Well, during Star Wars Weekends, a few shows each day at Millionaire was all Star Wars stories. Needless to say, my brother and I were in heaven, but man, they did not make it easy. They put in trivia from the books as well.

If it was still around, that would be a great option for you guys. If only......

On June 1, I am planning on doing our shopping at DTD -- we could plan to meet up there. :thumbsup2

Ok! That is perfect!

Thank you for the Star Wars info. I've never seen any of the movies and probably never will but when I read your TR, I want to know what/who you're talking about! We will steer clear of DHS on the Fri-Sun of our trip so I'm excited to see what you will do that we won't get the chance to!

Chewy is the last of the Wookies???? I had no idea. :confused3

@ jillyb -- that video was :lmao: Loved the whole bit about MLK day.

Jackie - that was so funny!! The first (released) Star Wars movie came out when I was about 9 years old. I remember seeing the first three original ones, but haven't seen the others, I'll have to remedy that.

I made the donut muffins this morning - but I didn't have vanilla. Still good!! My kids mostly liked the tops with all the butter and cinnamon sugar!!

That update is a perfect example of fake reading, something I try to explain to my third graders. Yes I can read it, but I have no idea what I am reading! Lol!

This is from a huge Star Wars fan, great synopsis! I have all of the movies on dvd, loved them all, but favorite is Return of the Jedi.

My little pom looked just like an ewock as a pup, thus his name Wicket. :darth::ewok:

I have not seen the newer made Star Wars movies but I have seen the three older ones...many many times. My point is that I understand them better with your study guide than I have when watching them. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Click to hear the light sabers over and over.
:rotfl2:
Last year we watched all of the films so that the girls knew about Star Wars (and so DH and I knew about the first three.) Of course, we watch six by mistake instead of five. grrr. I kept waiting for "Luke, I am your father."

What a great way to teach summary; haha. Did you have Conor summarize? (Even though I live for Disney next week--stupid state testing is on my mind!)

Great update!

I feel a Star Wars marathon coming on Jackie! I don't think Jared has even seen them all, I need to fix that!

I know it! I want to do a big Star Wars marathon now, too!

Oh, and my family wanted me to pass along a big thank-you, I made the doughnut muffins this morning, they were a big hit!

Yeay! I am so glad they liked them!

We love Star Wars here! DBF is excited but apprehensive about the new ride, though. We both love the original and how it pays homage to the old (and in our opinion superior) movies. I hope those elements aren't completely done away with!

Same here! I love the original movies so much more than the newer ones. I hope they retain that charm in the new ride.

Thank you for the SW historical time line Jackie!!:worship:
I have seen some of them....the ones with Harrison :lovestruc but I didn't know about the whole Anakin storyline etc. :thumbsup2

Hope you are enjoying your weekend! :goodvibes

Tracy

I have to confess I have only ever watched the three newer ones once (and I fell asleep during The Phantom Menace so I haven't even seen that one all the way through). In my opinion, Harrison Ford just makes the original ones for me. ;)

The kids are now on Day Ten of their unexpected "snowcation." I think it is time for them to go back to school.

Thank you for the Star Wars lesson. I have to admit, I'm still confused! I saw Star Wars when I was about 7, this is as far as I ever got in the series....is that weird? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Nah, not weird at all. Although you should give the original three another try -- they are classics!

THIS WAS CLASSIC!!!!!! Totally Awesome!!!

I'm huge into Star Wars and I just loved your two sentence synopsis of each movie....giant slug LOL!!!!!!!! Too funny....disturbing news about his family....LOL!!!!! OY!! I'm going to get Prince Phillip to read this, he'll love it!!!!!

Thanks, Jen! Connor and I had fun writing it yesterday and finding all the clips and pictures. Connor, of course, thought I was leaving too much out. It would have been book-length if I had let him include everything.

What a great overview. You had me laughing out loud quite a few times. I am a big fan of the "first" three movies (4-6) but was never able to get myself into the more recently released movies. Maybe I'll give them another try. May I email Connor with questions?

Of course you can email Connor any questions. He would be more than happy to answer them. He is our expert on the later ones -- I could only watch them once -- after all, with no Han Solo, what's the point? :rotfl:

I will copy that off and take it with me next time. When I see a character, I'll say, "Hold it right there until I can identify you." :thumbsup2

:lmao: That would be so funny to see.

I did learn who that big brown furry guy that had to be burning up was --- Chewbacca. :yay:

He is Han Solo's sidekick and makes great noises. Connor can do a pretty good impression of him. ;)

I think some future Connor videos will help me even more.

I am sure Connor would be more than happy to oblige. He wanted to go into a lot more detail than I let him.

Thanks for the Star Wars lesson. I watched a couple of the movies but I needed the lesson. :rotfl2:

Star Wars is always fun to revisit. There will be many more posts about the movies, I am sure. :goodvibes

Jackie, have you seen this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5N1Im1xbjWQ

I laughed so hard I nearly peed in my pants!

So funny!!! I love it when she said she wasn't doing anything before Easter. That's how I feel, too!

That was AWESOME!

I especially love the

"I have a bad feeling about this"

Thanks! I love that line, so I was thrilled to find a video that showcases all the times they say it throughout the movies.

Thanks for the lesson!

You're welcome! We had a lot of fun writing it.

Great update Jackie!! I shared that one with the family. :thumbsup2

Thanks! Glad the whole family enjoyed it! I know your boys like Star Wars as much as Connor does! :goodvibes

Wow, your run-down of Star Wars lingo was awesome!

Thanks! Connor and I were vastly amused coming up with everything.

I was in heaven one year when we visited during Star Wars Weekends, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire was still a show at DHS. They put in trivia from the books as well.

If it was still around, that would be a great option for you guys. If only......

How fun! That would be right up our alley although I must confess I don't know anything that happens in the books -- we are strictly a "film" family when it comes to Star Wars.

Ok! That is perfect!

Hurray! :yay:

Thank you for the Star Wars info. I've never seen any of the movies and probably never will but when I read your TR, I want to know what/who you're talking about! We will steer clear of DHS on the Fri-Sun of our trip so I'm excited to see what you will do that we won't get the chance to!

:lmao: Yep, if you aren't a Star Wars fan, I wouldn't suggest trying to fight the crowds at DHS during the weekend. There are a lot of crazy fans roaming around. :rotfl2:

Chewy is the last of the Wookies???? I had no idea. :confused3

Sad, isn't it? :sad2:

@ jillyb -- that video was :lmao: Loved the whole bit about MLK day.

Me too! She has a very valid point -- after all, we have had a whole week off.

Jackie - that was so funny!! The first (released) Star Wars movie came out when I was about 9 years old. I remember seeing the first three original ones, but haven't seen the others, I'll have to remedy that.

Thanks, Sheree! I plan on doing an entire update about my early history with those films. I was almost three when the first one came out -- I loved those movies so much I had all sorts of Star Wars memorabilia -- including a sheets set for my bed with all the characters on them. LOL!

I made the donut muffins this morning - but I didn't have vanilla. Still good!! My kids mostly liked the tops with all the butter and cinnamon sugar!!

Yeay! Glad they were a success! We liked the tops best, too!

That update is a perfect example of fake reading, something I try to explain to my third graders. Yes I can read it, but I have no idea what I am reading! Lol!

:lmao: One day you may understand completely now that you have a little boy in the house. :goodvibes

This is from a huge Star Wars fan, great synopsis! I have all of the movies on dvd, loved them all, but favorite is Return of the Jedi.

My little pom looked just like an ewock as a pup, thus his name Wicket. :darth::ewok:

Ah, I love that your puppy is named Wicket. The Empire Strikes Back has always been my favorite of all of them. Love the whole romance between Leia and Han.

I have not seen the newer made Star Wars movies but I have seen the three older ones...many many times. My point is that I understand them better with your study guide than I have when watching them. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

:lmao: Glad I could help out! There will be more Star Wars fun as the PTR progresses. You should see the things I have been discovering on ebay and etsy. LOL!

:rotfl2:
Last year we watched all of the films so that the girls knew about Star Wars (and so DH and I knew about the first three.) Of course, we watch six by mistake instead of five. grrr. I kept waiting for "Luke, I am your father."

Oh, yes, the famous line that threw everyone for a loop! I remember everyone being so shocked by that turn of events.

What a great way to teach summary; haha. Did you have Conor summarize? (Even though I live for Disney next week--stupid state testing is on my mind!)

Great update!

Thanks! Connor did get an unplanned lesson in summary with this update. It was killing him that we were leaving out big chunks of the storylines -- he kept saying, "But you are forgetting when so-and-so did such-and-such." I had to explain we didn't want to bog our readers down with a bunch of details. ;)

That update was PERFECTION!!!! Great job! :) You guys are going to be in heaven at SWW!!!!

I love the Star Wars lessons. Now, I'll be able to understand what my nephew is talking about :rotfl:

Madison saw her first Star Wars movie (Episode 3) this past summer. She is now a Star Wars junkie and knows more about the movies than I do (I watched Return of the Jedi almost everyday when I was little). Around Labor Day, there was a Star Wars marathon on Spike TV and we dvr'd it for her in our basement. She watched all of the movies all of the time, so Santa brought her the entire set on DVD. She can now watch the movies anywhere she wants without any fastforwarding. :thumbsup2

She also received many Lego Star Wars sets for Christmas and made all of them over Christmas break (we only helped her on a few of them...she built the Battle of Endor...890 pieces...all by herself!). We also gave her Lego Star Wars for the Wii for her birthday in October. She is 90% Jedi right now and has almost completed all of the extra little missions.

Needless to say, we NEED to go to Star Wars Weekends sometime in the near future!

Hey Jackie. So the kids were out all week?? I love that video of the Atlanta woman :rotfl:. She was funny. Look what I made this morning

001.jpg

They were very good!! The boys liked them.

Are you off today for the holiday or are you in school??

I saw the original Star Wars movies and loved them! The new ones, I have no idea about...
I do however enjoy SWW!!!

With all the prompting on HD's thread I decided to get started on my new TR, so I'm over here issuing an invite.
Please join me!
It's the first link in my siggie!

Oh yeah, Oh Yeah... :woohoo: It is all about the prompting, and poking, and whining, :lmao: Hey, if it works...

Can't WAIT!

Get on it, Jackie!!!

Okay, that was very cool, complete with audio/visuals and graphics :rotfl: But what was really running through my mind??

"yup, these people are definitely snowed in with no other options..." :rotfl2: THANKFULLY that was the case, b/c otherwise how else would I have gotten my Spark Notes edition to the SW Saga!!?? :goodvibes

THANK you Connor and Jackie. Of course, I am sure the whole process was a very educational activity, replete with editing, grammar checking -- passive voice, rich vocabulary, subject verb agreement, and other Language Arts development.... Hey. From ONE teacher to another... ;)

As always, lovin' your PTR... :thumbsup2
