Sensing Pixie Dust I Am! A Star Wars Weekend PTR! New PTR Link pg. 77!

Hey, at least it is something. I agree -- coming off a three-day weekend, it must have been extra nice. It's just cold and rainy here -- today starts our soccer conditioning and somehow I got roped into being the girls' assistant coach (Charles is the head coach), so I am looking forward to standing in the rain outside. Not really, of course.

Okay, I am impressed that you are assistant coach! Neat! I am a soccer mom, but the best volunteering I do is coordinating game day snacks! But I sew costumes for theater, so it all balances out!

Good choice on keeping the boys occupied with a Harry Potter movie -- I think all of them are pretty lengthy. LOL!

Oh it was -- it lasted right around 2 and 1/2 hours! It gave me the time I needed to get a few things done! so we headed off to Chik-fil-A for lunch after.

Hurray! I am very excited about the prospect of you finishing your TR and starting your pre-trip! Did you get the email from Disney about how they are broadcasting the christening of the Dream online tomorrow at 10:30? Too bad I have students then -- I would love to watch it!

Oh! I had seen that they were broadcasting the Today show, yes, so I guess that must be what is being televised? It should be fun to see! I don't know that I will be able to see it either, but I suspect it will be somewhere on the DIS by the end of the day!!! :thumbsup2

:lmao: That would be my Charles -- he really doesn't get the whole Star Wars thing. He helps me pick out SW presents for Connor by how cool they look.

That is us, in this house, too! :rotfl: "Oh, that looks neat! Cool colors, lets get it!!" :rotfl:

Tell me about having too many lightsabers! Connor has enough to outfit an entire Jedi Academy, and enough blasters to outfit a battalion of stormtroopers.

That is our house, too!!! :rotfl: Good grief, do they really need that many??!!

Loved the SW synopsis!! It actually made me want to see the movies!! :) I've watched 4-6 but it's been a while...:)

Take care & have a great day!!

I did not realize the Kingdom Keeper books were available on the Kindle! I have wanted to read those, but haven't yet...so perhaps I'll purchase one before the trip and read it on the plane ride down. :scratchin

Jackie - LOVED the Star Wars history! Even though I have seen all the movies and have a general understanding this was VERY helpful.

Episode Six: The Return of the JedI: Han Solo is rescued from a slug (a very big slug), Luke confronts Darth Vader, and the Empire is felled by the slingshots of small teddy bears. Everyone celebrates.

Really? Teddy bears? Seriously???? I have got to re-watch these movies! :rotfl:

Jackie - just thought I'd share, Jared was home sick from school today, I walked into the living room to check on him at one point and he had all the Star Wars movies out and was watching Episode I. We haven't seen them in ages, but he watched the youtube videos with me from your update the other day and decided it was time to pull them out :yoda:

Good idea!!! :thumbsup2

If Anita will hold my hand and tell me it is going to be okay. :rotfl:

We will have some fun over there! The way I'm thinking right now if we are driving down we could be spending the night really close and drive on in that Sunday morning and head on over to DHS and meet up with you all!
I'll not only hold your hand for TOT, I'll not let go and drag you on!!!!
I promise, it will be great!

If you are going on Sunday that is...

you know, I'm actually GOING on the Dream and I did not get an email!!!!
Luckily, I'm all over these boards and lots of people have been talking about it!!!

I get emails from Disney about all sorts of things. I think they are always trying to tempt me. LOL! I am planning on watching all the videos this weekend.

I have seen episodes 4,5, and 6 but it was about 12 years ago. I am going to have to see if I can get them off Netflix. I wouldn't be surprised if we come home with a lightsaber because while Alexia hasn't seen SW she loves to play with lightsabers. The little boy (the Clown Wars boy that I watch has some and she loves his.

Building lightsabers at DTD always looks like a lot of fun. One of the reasons I like Star Wars is that while there are only a couple of female characters -- they are very strong and assertive.

I'm joining in! A little late, but I'm here!

I've been lurking on a couple of your PTRs/TRs, but I was scared to post, being younger than your usual readers. Hope you don't mind me joining in...

Welcome!!! I am so glad you decided to post!

:rotfl2: I loved your Star Wars monologue! Just to show you how old I REALLY am - Star Wars came out when I was a senior in high school. I remember sitting through the first movie and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Everyone was so excited about it and I just didn't get it. I am sure I fell asleep during the middle of it. Yes - I know - a travesty!

 Too funny!

When my kids were little we bought the (first 3 /last 3?) episodes and watched them over and over again. My kids LOVED them and watched them non-stop. I became a fan then! I loved that, "I Have A Bad Feeling About This?" I love how cute Harrison Ford was back then. What a great creative story.

Thanks for sharing!

He was a cutie back then, wasn't he? :goodvibes

We must be the same age......and I did fall asleep ;)

:lmao:

My new DVC guide called me tonight to introduce herself and I was transferred to her from a different line.....well the Disney music comes on during the hold and what does it play but "It's a Small World!!!!!" I thought of KK immediately and the dolls :rotfl:

Sorry MeMom

Tracy

I think of that scene from KK everytime I hear It's a Small World. I just can't help it. LOL!

Okay, I am impressed that you are assistant coach! Neat! I am a soccer mom, but the best volunteering I do is coordinating game day snacks! But I sew costumes for theater, so it all balances out!

Well, this is my first year doing this whole assistant coach thing -- we will see how it goes. If you remember from last year, the teacher coach gets paid the head coaching salary even though Charles is really the head coach and makes all the decisions. It just seemed to make sense for me to be the assistant coach so we get both coaching salaries. ;) It has been so cold this week, and we have about 50 girls out there conditioning -- tryouts are next week. I am so ready to whittle the team down to the 20 girls we will have. Keeping track of all those girls has been a bit mind-boggling.

Oh it was -- it lasted right around 2 and 1/2 hours! It gave me the time I needed to get a few things done! so we headed off to Chik-fil-A for lunch after.

I bet the boys liked that! Chick-Fil-A is always a yummy meal!

Oh! I had seen that they were broadcasting the Today show, yes, so I guess that must be what is being televised? It should be fun to see! I don't know that I will be able to see it either, but I suspect it will be somewhere on the DIS by the end of the day!!! :thumbsup2

I think it is! I told Charles we were going to have to take cruise soon -- my two would be all about that Aqua Duck.

That is us, in this house, too! :rotfl: "Oh, that looks neat! Cool colors, lets get it!!" :rotfl:

Yep, same here!

That is our house, too!!! :rotfl: Good grief, do they really need that many??!!

It's sad that Connor has a big rubbermaid container just for lightsabers and blasters. It always strikes me as funny to say, "Okay, go put these in the weapons bin." :rotfl:

Loved the SW synopsis!! It actually made me want to see the movies!! :) I've watched 4-6 but it's been a while...:)

Take care & have a great day!!

Thanks! I could probably go the rest of my life without seeing Episodes 1-3 ever again, but I do like those originals A LOT!

I did not realize the Kingdom Keeper books were available on the Kindle! I have wanted to read those, but haven't yet...so perhaps I'll purchase one before the trip and read it on the plane ride down. :scratchin

Perfect vacation reading!

Jackie - LOVED the Star Wars history! Even though I have seen all the movies and have a general understanding this was VERY helpful.

Ha ha! Glad you enjoyed it!

Really? Teddy bears? Seriously???? I have got to re-watch these movies! :rotfl:

That was all Connor! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: I'm glad I am not alone. There were so many other things I rather be doing that evening! :rolleyes1

Ah, to be a teenager again!

If you are going on Sunday that is...

Sunday is the day we were planning on DHS so that will work out perfectly! I told Chelsea what you said about dragging me on, and she said, "I will help Miss Anita." :rotfl: I think you and Chelsea would make wonderful partners in crime. LOL!

We will need pictures, :goodvibes please.

How about video?!?!? :cool1:

Do it do it do it.

Well, with so many people egging me on, how can I chicken out this time? I will have to just to save face! :lmao:

Joining :) Love your (P)TR's

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

What EVERYONE said. Plus the video comment

I better make sure I don't scream too much if there is video involved. LOL!

looks like it's going to be a fun one! can't wait to read the tr!!

Welcome! :goodvibes

:woohoo: You can do it Jackie, you can do it!!!

I hope so -- I would hate to disappoint everyone. :lmao:

Oh boy, Chelsea and Anita taking Jackie on ToT!!! This is a video that I have got to see!!! :thumbsup2

So I have a Star Wars question:
Since 4, 5 and 6 are "old", is it weird to see "lesser" special effects in those and are the 1, 2 and 3 effects way cooler? Just curious!!

I think it's awesome that you are coaching too - I love that you figured out a way to get the money that Charles should have had and then some!! Very clever!

Makes perfect sense to me, and you get all that Disney money! :dance3:

ToT is a MUST do. If I could get down there and drag, I mean help you on, I would. It is not as bad as you think it is. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Being the Assisitant coach is genius!!!! More Disney dollars. :woohoo:
