Senseless tragedy

What a tragic story. I feel for that father.
The drunk driver sure had a lot to drink. I hardly ever hear of blood alcohol levels that high.
Sad.

That is so tragic! :(

It's always the drunk ones that survive. Approximately 14 drinks! How does anyone drink that much before passing out.

Years ago my sister lost a friend when a drunk driver jumped the divider on a highway. Killed her friend. The drunk survived.

As a former professional paramedic I know that somehow the drunks survive those crashes but often, but only the innocent are killed. Having to treat those -I guess posting rules do not permit to use an approriate term- always sucked.
Someone causing a crash with an alcohol-level like this is not drunken driver, but a driving drinker. A person like me who rarely drinkes alcohol would be in a deep coma with that level. Only a person with a bad alcohol problem can stay conscious enough to drive.
It should also be asked how his environment could let him drive, i.e. family. co-workers. Someone with a habit like that must have attracted at least some suspicion.

I agree Viking. They say he left work just a half hour before the accident, such a shame that no one noticed his condition and stopped him :sad2:. I can't help but think of his 2 teenage children, just more victims of his decision to drink and drive.

there was a thread about this yesterday too.
Just so sad :sad2:

Did you see his BAL??? He was beyond wasted!!!!!!!!!

So sad. Can't imagine someone being conscious at that level, let alone driving. Hope he is in jail for life or executed. Sad.

Unfortunately--it is their drunken state that "saves" them. Their body doesn't tense up on the crash---so less resistance to the impact. Or something like that. I had heard this somewhere---a very creepy thought. The tragedies and suckiness of how life isn't fair for those who chose to break the law.

And even worse--will this jerk even remember what he did?

I'm sure his co-workers are feeling a bit guilty at this time. Although, they couldn't do much to stop him from getting in the car, you'd think someone would have called the police at least. How could someone have 14 drinks at work (or on his lunch break) and co-workers don't notice?? Unless, maybe he is in an office by himself shut away from others?
Of course, when it gets down to it, it is nobody's fault but his own. :sad2:

This is so sad. I feel so bad for the husband.
