Something else they should look at that we discovered when we asked questions, is some benifits (some blue cross and such) already cover you across the boarder.

We have this coverage with my DH work, I had to see a doctor, claimed it no biggie. Not sure if it will cover pre exisiting conditions, but seeing as it pays for the prescriptions and care I dont know why it wouldn't (I have to look into it for my mom!)

My parents are retired as are most seniors that are travelling so no more benefits at work to cover you when you cross. We have coverage too with my husband's plan, but we have to pay up front & then submit the claim which we can't do if it were a large sum.
