Senior Hook Day

We call it senior skip day here. In my school district it is the Monday after Prom. The only problem with it is that is when they administor a lot of the AP tests. I remember lots of people went in to take it and went home "sick" It is unoffical and is an unexcused absence though.

I went to a Catholic HS and we didn't have a Senior Cut day, but we did have St. Patrick's day- lots of us caught a train into NYC for the parade. It was considered an excused absence as long as you (or your parents) didn't lie about it!

My son is a HS senior now, not sure if there's a planned day or not. Right now they're planning what to do the day after prom, that's another parent headache for sure!
