Sending daughter on honeymoon, using our DVC points, can she get other discounts?

My daughter will be spending her honeymoon at WDW May 30 to June 3 (BCV) and Vero Beach June 4-6. She will be using our (her parents') DVC points. Can she get the discounts at restaurants and tours, or is that only for DVC members? I know it will day DVC on her room key, but does she also need the blue card?

We have sent our kids to DVC for a number of trips and in each and every case they were treated as DVC Members which, as you noted, is stated on their room key / in park charge card. You can also arrange for tickets or tours thru DVC with any discounts.

Thanks. I thought I saw in a recent DVC mailing that both a room key and blue member card needed to be presented. Thanks for clarifying.

The room key and DVC card are necessary for the preferred seating at American Gardens for the Flower Power concerts. I think this is to prevent folks who live in Florida from using just their member card to get the seating.

"Technically" if you receive compensation for someone using your points, they aren't entitled to the discounts. Your daughter (and her new husband) are your guests and would be entitled to most of the discounts. (In reality, everyone staying on points get a card that says DVC member so they aren't very strict). Sometimes people are denied the discount on the LOS pass since that is only suppossed to be for the member and the people staying in the same unit as the member. Some people have reported getting the discount, others were denied.

Guests get all discounts except for the cash room discount and UPH 10% dicsount (though they usually give it anyway). Seems like there's one other I'm forgetting. But yes, they will get the valey parking, restaurant and venue discounts. You might send you blue card with them as a backup.

Make sure you have MS note it's for their Honeymoon. We sent our DS and bride to HH for their Honeymoon and resort sent up Champagne, a card and some other goodies. I gave my son our blue card just in case and told him to ask about the discounts. He said it worked fine. CM's were great and did some very nice things for them. I would hope BCV's would do the same.
