Sending bottles of wine to POR

I don't know that you can. When I bought a bottle of wine in France, I couldn't carry it around the park, they couldn't send it to my resort. They could send it to the gift shop up front for me to pick up 3 hours later.

Another year, When I wanted a bottle of wine at POR for our anniversary, I just went down to the gift shop there and bought it.

Gift shop or pack in your checked luggage. Wrap in your clothes and it will be fine.

Depends on what you want - if you want to bring a special bottle or few from home, then I'd suggest using these (available on Amazon) and putting the bottles in your checked luggage.

If you want to travel routinely with more than a few of your own bottles, then I'd suggest this as it is sturdy, reusable, and allows you to transport 12 standard sized bottles (or buy different inserts and travel with magnums).

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but you cannot (as a private citizen) pack and ship your own wine. You can however ask a retailer or winery to ship wine directly to you and this is allowed in the state of Florida (except in the three dry counties of Lafayette, Liberty, Washington) : we spent last Christmas in Key West and asked our favorite Oregon winery to ship 6 bottles directly to the resort for us.

Thanks everyone for the info. We are from Connecticut and can't get any liquor sent to our state so I know all about that situation. Garden grocer doesn't seem to have moscato. I am going to trial some box wines this week and just pack them in the checked luggage. They now come in little 2 glass sizes!

Word of warning: if you put it in your checked bag, be 100% sure to put the containers in at least 1 type of plastic bag!
I've seen luggage have wine containers break/open in them and not only ruin that person's luggage, but any luggage that was stowed near it. I'd be absolutely furious if my luggage was drenched and/or ruined with wine from someone else's bag.

I know the gift shop in POFQ sells wine, DW purchased a bottle to bring back home, then even provided a packing box and extra packing foam for us.

I haven't had great luck with boxed wines (tetra packs) the flavour IMO just isn't that great. You could try the suggestions above posted by PPs. Another possible is to wrap your 2 or 3 bottles in bubble wrap and then place securely in dry bags within your checked luggage. You can get these at most outdoor shops like REI, etc. However, for the extra expense and time involved in doing this, I would check out the resort shop, the France shop in Epcot and if you are going during Food & Wine, the Festival Center has a great selection. As PP noted, if purchased in the park, they take them to the front of the park where you then line up with your receipt to pick up at the end of the day. Are you paying a premium for bottled wine in the park? Absolutely. But if you add up the $ with the prep packing, it may be a wash and you save the worry (and weight) of glass bottles in your suit case.

Another idea would be just to pick up some bottles of wine in Epcot. They have a great variety and some are at reasonable prices (at least a better selection and price than the resort gift shops). Just don't forget to pack a wine bottle opener! :)

Are you sure? I see moscato wine on their website....

Airport security WILL unwrap bottles in your luggage!
I brought special locally made BarBQ sauce TO CT for my son and they unwrapped the bubble wrap around bottle- thank goodness it don't break in my luggage!!

Or companies that specialize in shipping wine. Wine.com has several moscatos, but Italy has a nice sparkling sweet red, Banfi Rosa Regale.

I used Black Box brand wine last time I traveled to The World. Worked great. Only an idiot would ship liquids without double and triple wrapping them. I also recommend the Wine Diaper:

http://www.amazon.com/Wine-Diaper-Padded-Absorbent-pack/dp/B00722LMGU

It's padded and absorbent, so if you do have a break, it soaks it up.

Wow! At $60 for 6 of these, not sure how budget friendly these are. I understand they're reusable, but I don't travel with wine often enough to make these cost-effective. But I second your recommendation for Black Box. We packed that box for a girls' trip. Packs easily, no worries on breakage and tastes great!

You could also wrap your bottles in diapers and then put it in a ziplock bag, cushioned around your clothes or even in a box. You can use bubble wrap around the bottle and then put in a ziplock bag, cushioned around your clothes or in a box. I have traveled internationally about 10+ times and have done this every time. I have even used the wine diapers. Never had a broken bottle. ;)

I also like Moscato. Last year I bought the "picnic pack" of 4 little single serve bottles of wine and packed them in our luggage. They are plastic, so you don't have to worry about them breaking.
