could some one give me an idea on attire for each. 2 sisters and my eleven y.o. neice. :cool1:

If I'm not mistaken, what a lot of people on DCL wear for semi-formal are dresses that are nice like a cocktail dress or something of that nature..maybe something like you would wear to an evening wedding...and for formal, I think a lot of the ladies actually wear formal gowns...or something that you would wear to prom (for the kids), or a black-tie affair. I hope this helps.

There is really not a lot of difference. Wear your dressiest dress for formal, next fanciest for semi. Or....long for formal, short for semi.

After 12 cruises, I still can't look at the clothing and tell which night is which. We dress up for both. An idea---black sandals may save you bringing dress shoes.

I agree with the above poster. I have two long gowns that I LOVE and I'm wearing the dressier of the two to formal night and the other to semi-formal. I was going to bring a short cocktail dress for semi-formal night but then I said, "When else do I really get to get REALLY dressed up?" Go all out if that's you thing.

and don't forget, accessories can also make a dress more formal, or semi formal! i have this great dress that's reversable (from express)...black one side, and red the other side. was planning on just bringing one dress for those 2 occasions, but then, at the last minute found a "formal" dress for a bargain! (again, at express!) :flower:
