Selling Question

I am going to be selling one of by BCV contracts, but currently have a reservation using these points. Does anyone know when I can submit to Disney for ROFR without affecting the existing reservation? Can I have everything in place and just close after the stay is completed?

I don't know the correct answer.

I doubt you would be able to list your contract until you have completed your trip. If you submit it and have a current reservation, I believe that reservation would be canceled.

I don't know if a timeshare resale company would even list if you still intend on using some of the points.

Give one of the resale companies a call and see what they say. When we listed our contract, the first thing we were asked to do is get a points usage statement from DVC.

My understanding is that all reservations are cancelled upon a sale. Not sure exactly when in the process that happens, though.

I agree with floridafam - call one of the brokers and ask.

I have seen listings which state that the contract was not available to close until, ..a date a few months ahead. I assume it's because the sellers have reservations.

Maybe you could have it put into the contract about your points being used for that trip.
