Selling Points

I would contact a resale broker which I am sure that others will recommend to you. I had great experience with Jaki Apetz and **** *****. Here is their website

Good luck

Also check the Timeshare Store and DVC by Resale (just search DVC Resale on google or yahoo for the web addresses). Those and the one recommended above seem to do most of the DVC resale business and I've read good reports of all three. Check with all of them to see who has the best deal for a seller.

Another recommendation for The Timeshare Store. Have used them to buy and sell with good success and excellent service.

May I ask what you're selling and why?

A quick reminder to all that posters are not allowed to post the number of points, home resort, or use year in posts mentioning selling points. It would be considered "for sale" post and a violation of board policy.

Thanks.

I am realy looking to rent points. How do I go about that?

Go to the rent/trade board and you will find assistance there, particularly in the sticky threads at the top of the page. The moderators of that Board (Chuck S, Caskbill, CarolMN, LisaS) will also answer questions if you are having difficulty after reading the guidelines in the sticky threads.

Ah, while commonly referred to as "renting points" there are two ways to go about it.

You can transfer points to another member, or you can make a reservation and rent that reservation.

Either way, I would draw up a contract where both parties agree upon payment method and deadlines, cancellation policy (if a reservation rental) etc.

Most DVC members consider all monies paid as non-refundable on a rental in the event the other party cancels, but you can set your own policies.

Also, if you'd like to post your points using our Rent/Trade Board, be sure to read all the sticky threads near the top of that board, as the Rent/Trade board has an automatic approval program. The threads must meet very specific title requirements, etc. New threads posted to the Rent/Trade Board go into a holding queue for approval by the program before they will appear on the board. :)

In the meantime, I'm sure others DVCers will add to the comments here, and share some of their tips for renting or transferring their points.

Gayle -- read the two posts (9 & 10) above yours for assistance.

Chuch S.
Can you tell me how long it take to recieved a confirmation letter?

I'm not Chuck S but can tell you that most times it has taken me 7-10 days to get a confirmation letter from Disney. If I have made a reservation for someone else I then send it to them so that takes another few days depending on where they live. I was not sure if you are renting from someone or renting to someone so figure 7-15 days and occasionally it has been longer if it was for something in a very busy season like Christmas.
