I hate to even go down this road, but it may be necessry due to recnt events :(
If we want/need to sell our SSR DVC membership back to Disney, does anyone know how we do that? How much do you think they will give us pp and what if it is less than we owe?

So Sorry..

I guess you could give it to Disney, but why not resell (Timeshare Store above?) The only other ways Disney gets points back are foreclosure or ROFR (If DVC thinks your resale is too low a price, Disney can exercise their Right of first refusal and will match that low offer) If they do not ROFR that means you are getting more than Disney is willing to pay!

Disney does not buy back points except through the Right of First Refusal process where you have already found a buyer and Disney decides to buy those points because it is a low price or they may need points to resell for that particular resort. There have been a couple of reports that people were able to sell back to Disney but it was at $50-55 per point. Am sorry to hear you may have to sell and hope that it works out for you. Maybe you could rent your points and be able to keep them that way until you are in a better situation to use them.

The handful of times I know where DVC has offered to buy directly was for BCV only and for a lowball figure like $50 and $51 a point before the economy went down. But if you cut the price low enough, you'll get takers and if DVC does ROFR, you'll still get your money. If there's a loan you may not get what is owed and would have to come up with the difference.

When money waas very tight for me about five years ago, I sold my points myself on eBay. I got a good price (more than I had paid for them 10 years earlier). Today, I have bought back in in several resorts. If I had to resell, I would quickly list with Timeshare Store. I think they would sell it relatively fast and easily for me at a fair market price, certainly more than I could get from Disney.

Just because you are forced to sell doesn't mean you can buy back in at a later date. We do what we have to do.:)
