Selling of the fastpass....

just find it funny that people that hoarded FPs in the past and often prevented others from getting FPs on the most popular attractions are appalled at the thought of buying and selling of FPs

I don't think Disney has ever instructed CMs that it's their policy to allow sale of Fast Passes, have they?

I think the analogy fails.

I have NEVER sold or bought a fastpass. I wouldn't. I love Disney so much. I'm simply saying of course the thought has crossed my mind when you have that fastpass in your hand and you're passing easily a thousand people in line you feel like you've got a backstage pass to a Justin Bieber concert (I'm being silly). Jokingly I would say....."man we could hock these tickets!"

I'm just wondering if anyone has thought the same thing. Don't want to be accused of blastpheme, or being morally bad.

We actual saw this. A person was selling FP for Soarin . I acted like I was buying them and in the same time my son got a CM.The CM took over and we never knew what happened.

I would never buy or sell a fastpass, and I only get a FP if I plan on going on the attraction, but you bet your britches I would use them later than my window when Disney allowed it. ( Get the Disney allowed part. ;) )

I only ride a limited number of rides, so when I get a fastpass I often have to walk quite a ways to find another ride I can do...or just sit around waiting my my fastpass to come up. ( I avoid shopping in the park :rolleyes1)

When I am on the other side of the park trying to ride another ride before my fastpass time, I sometimes don't feel like going back to the FP ride. In those cases, rather then seeing the FP wasted, I look for someone who wants it.

So with the new system, will unused time slots just be waisted instead of shared?

just find it funny that people that hoarded FPs in the past and often prevented others from getting FPs on the most popular attractions are appalled at the thought of buying and selling of FPs but had no problems with acting as a secondary distributor of FPs just so they could feel better about themselves or spread "pixie dust". Whatever that means.

Reminds me of a group of people once that hoarded all the CRT ressies and acted as a secondary distributor.

Also, ironic that some of these same people that claim FP "rule follower" act self righteous are now displaying similar behavior.

All very interesting to watch.

I have to say even though I havent thought it and have given MANY fastpasses away as we get a GAC but also collect fastpasses to try and use instead of the GAC when that plan doesnt work out with our son we give all our fastpasses away and head bk to the pool.
I had to :lmao: at the same thing!! Very funny

No. In fact I never thought of it. And we ride Soarin' all the time and get fastpasses so we can ride it again that same morning usually. We've given fastpasses away when we knew we needed to go do something else and wouldn't be back in time (that was BEFORE the change in the fastpass window).
One time we offered them to a couple who was passing through the area outside the Soarin' entrance and it turned out they had never ridden it. :-) Told them they really should at least once!

Oh, puhleeze.

Deciding that you're too tired to bother with walking back to Splash and giving away your FPs to some strangers on your way out of the park is not even close to being like the "Angels."

Exactly. I have never collected FP's so that I could act as some magic spreading secondary FP distributor. I have gotten really tired and decided to head back to the hotel when I had FP's in my pocket though. Why take them to the room and toss them out when I could pass them along?

I set up a booth outside of TSMM and sell my fast passes. It's a lucrative business. I also sell Chef Mickey's and Le Cellier ADR's

When has Disney said they want or need a secondary distributor of FPs?

When have they encouraged the practice of hoarding FPs?

While we are at it, what is Disney's policy on the sale of FPs?

In essence, it is the same thing at the root. Acting as a distributor of a Disney product.

In the past, people have admittedly hoarded FPs for the purpose of spreading "pixie dust". It is not their place to do so any more than the CRT "angels" a while back

You know you've thought of it. You've got that Soarin fastpass and there are no more available. Would you sell it if you had a buyer?

On the other hand if someone came up to you and offered you their Soarin fastpass for 5 bucks each would you take it? Saving an hour and a half in line would be super nice.

I know this practice is TOTALLY forbidden by Disney and have NEVER done it or even come close. Just wanna hear if it's crossed your minds and the ole "what if" scenario.:rolleyes1

Naa, thank God I don't need money that bad. I just think it's plain tacky if someone were to do that. I have given many Fastpasses away and I really enjoyed how some people were so greatful. I was also the recipient of someone giving them to me. Even if it were allowed, I would still give them away.

I don't gamble, but I do play the 50/50 at my daughter's high school and I won the last time I went and gave it all back to the Jazz band that my daughter plays in. I looked at it as found money and I know the school needed it. I never really give to charity, so when I have the small opportunity, it makes me feel good.

Hopefully in the future, I can really make a difference.

Now if you are talking about ADRs (I might buy them for Le Cellier). LOL.

Every party's got a pooper that's why we invited you.
Board guidelines do not allow for discussion regarding anything that goes against Disney policy...no 'party poopers' here.

Ummm, those that had many FPs, in hand, did not prevent anyone else from getting a FP. It wouldn't make a difference in any way.
And to compare any of this to those so called 'angels' is silly. Those guys did prevent people from booking CRT..which is why that ADR/PS became a credit card transaction.

When has Disney said they want or need a secondary distributor of FPs?

Disney never said anything about secondary distributors..that's just plain silly.

Disney never 'encouraged' hoarding of FPs...they just allowed you to return later in the day to use FPs that had return windows earlier in the day.

Well...I do believe there is wording on the FPs that says they are 'non-transferrable'...at least there used to be. Now, that never stopped me from handing my unused FP to someone entering the park as I was leaving. If I found I couldn't use it (yes, for that late return, back in the day), I liked giving it to someone else. Made me feel good, brightened someone else's day.

As far as thinking about selling my FP??? Seriously?? Nope. Sure, I've left a parking garage on Black Friday, thinking that I could sell my parking place and make a fortune (got there at 7am, so all done by 10 when the hordes were arriving), but that didn't mean I was seriously considering it.

I'll go half-way there. If people are getting the FPs just so they can decide who gets them, it's a little Angely. But they still aren't standing around saying, "haaa-haaa! I got all the FPs! Now everyone beg me for them and then I'll determine who the lucky winners are!"

Plenty of people, like me, would pick them up intending to use them and then decide not to because they were tired or it rained or whatever...so they'd give them away rather than just throwing them out. That is NOT like the Angels at all.

We don't think we are freakin Most Special Ever FP Gods who have the right to make people beg for our approval. We're just tired (or wet, hungry, whatever) and not wasteful.

I never felt particularly good about myself for doing it. I just did it.

And, yeah, I know it was against the rules and I did it anyway. Wanna call a cop? ;)

How do you figure it didnt stop anyone from getting a FP? at attractions like TSMM and Soaring, FPs run out. Hoarders did prevent people from getting FPs.

I wouldn't buy or sell a fastpass. I would give them away though if I had one I decided not to use after all.

how ironic is it that FP late users always trumpet the "I didnt do anything against Disney policy" but yet many gave away their FPs which is against Disney policy because on the FP it says its non-transferable. I guess the same CMs that told them they could use them late also told them they could give them to other guests.

I am a deep believer in FP karma :goodvibes. We give away whatever we cannot or will not use and we have benefitted from others as well.

Using them late was approved by Disney.

Giving them away was, to the best of my knowledge, not approved and officially against the rules.

I just don't care. I'm not a stringent, bordering on insane, Rule Follower.

Of the gazillion problems in the world, Fastpasses Handoff has to be about last on the Things Sane People Worry About list.
