Selling of the fastpass....

Using them late was approved by Disney.

Giving them away was, to the best of my knowledge, not approved and officially against the rules.

I just don't care. I'm not a stringent, bordering on insane, Rule Follower.

Of the gazillion problems in the world, Fastpasses Handoff has to be about last on the Things Sane People Worry About list.

since you dont care, would you also be OK with people selling their FPs?

We've given away fastpasses on most of our trips to WDW. Either it winds up being close to an ADR, or we're too tired to go on that particular ride. I love the look on the people's faces when we hand them FPs for a ride.

Another thing we like doing is visiting the arcade at Contemporary and spending $20 having fun playing skee-ball and other games and racking up tickets. When we're done, and have a ton of tickets in our hands, we look around for a family with some small children and hand the tickets to the parents and tell them to let the kids get something nice. The parents are always stunned, but seriously, what are we going to get with 200 tickets? To a couple of 5 year olds, 200 tickets is like winning the lottery!:cool1:

We give away FPs if we aren't going to use them. I have also been given FPs from CMs and other guests. I wouldn't buy or sell them

I would never sell or buy them, but I have given them away. Every FP I get is with the intended purpose of using them for myself. However, on the rare occasion that I just wasn’t going to get to use it I saw no reason not to pass it on to someone who could. That may not go along with Disney policy, but I doubt they will tell me my hard earned dollar is no longer welcome in their parks. If giving a FP to a fellow guest is the worst rule I break then I feel just fine about myself.

how ironic is it that FP late users always trumpet the "I didnt do anything against Disney policy" but yet many gave away their FPs which is against Disney policy because on the FP it says its non-transferable. I guess the same CMs that told them they could use them late also told them they could give them to other guests.

And where would you draw a line? And who sets that line? Its OK to violate a Disney policy because you dont agree with it or think its trivial?

So ironic.
I believe that giving away a FP that I will not use and putting another rider on in my stead creates no issue. What difference does it make who the rider is?

just find it funny that people that hoarded FPs in the past and often prevented others from getting FPs on the most popular attractions are appalled at the thought of buying and selling of FPs but had no problems with acting as a secondary distributor of FPs just so they could feel better about themselves or spread "pixie dust". Whatever that means.

Reminds me of a group of people once that hoarded all the CRT ressies and acted as a secondary distributor.

Also, ironic that some of these same people that claim FP "rule follower" act self righteous are now displaying similar behavior.

All very interesting to watch.

I had actually started to build up a little respect for your position because you seemed to have put a little thought into it in the past. The quoted post erases all that.

1. The thought of selling FPs to doe-eyed first-time parkgoers, or any other, for personal gain disgusts me. Call me self-righteous if it makes you feel better, but it is morally reprehensible and clearly against Disney policy and intent. If you disagree with that, I think you would find yourself at the far end of that particular spectrum.

2. The thought of using FPs past the softly-worded printed window--that multiple CMs volunteered to me as not set in stone--is not in the same ballpark. If you want to believe it is, go ahead.

3. FPs that I've given away were not part of a premeditated master strategy to upset the FP distribution system of a major corporation. They were last-minute decisions based on our changing desires over the course of the day. Maybe little Johnny had a change of heart about riding a particular ride or little Sue was tired and we decided it was best to return to the resort. Does it feel good to give them away? Of course. Am I so desperate to feel that so as to collect them hours earlier specifically for that feeling? Uh, no.

You now join a select group of posters who I no longer engage with on this subject. Our two positions are too radically different for it to make sense for either of us, and it just wastes everyone else's time.

Because its against stated Disney policy and Disney doesnt need or desire a secondary distributor to decide who uses their product.

Would you be OK with the buying and selling of FPs as well?

Interesting that you didnt address that it is also clearly against Disney policy to give away FPs but yet you have ignored that policy. Why do you feel it is OK to violate Disney policy?

No - selling FPs is way out of bounds. I also do not pool-hop or engage in questionable mug refilling behavior. I really like what you are getting at, but the way you are getting at it seems to be exceedingly rigid. Has your speedometer ever crept over the posted limit? How did you feel about that?

Will you just make your point?

Is your point is that you feel we are all terrible and you are a far better person?

Is it that you think the Angels really were Angels and everyone else is no better?

What?

Haven't read thru all the pages of this, but in answer to the original question:

No, I would not consider buying or selling FPs. I have given them away if I've been unable to use them, sometimes directly to other guests or to a CM manning the FP distribution area.

Actually, looking at an unused FP I have tacked to my bulletin board from a few years ago, I see 'non-transferable' on the back, which is in line with all Disney ticketing media. So, technically, I guess you can't give them away...

The point is that the late FP users all hung their hat on they werent doing anything against Disney policy but yet many gave away FPs which is against Disney policy. Cant help but see the irony and hypocrisy in that position.

Also, Disney doesnt need a secondary distributor for FPs or ADRs in the past but many feel like they need to act as such in order to feel better about themselves by spreading "pixie dust". They seem to not care about Disney policy when it comes to that but are quick to point out they have done nothing wrong with late FP usage

Duly noted.

So, are you stating that if you personally held a FP that you couldn't use, you would actually throw it away, rather than pass it on to someone who could, simply because it is against Disney policy?

Just curious...
