Anyone have any ideas on where to sell Interval International exchanges? We used 146 points to make reservations in Scotland this March. We found out over the holidays that we are expecting twins and had to cancel the trip! Since the exchange between DVC and Interval had already been made, our points are locked into Interval International. They have to be used by 12/30/2006. Any suggestions? One idea we had was to make reservations in Colorado or something for Spring Break or Winter Break and then sell those BUT if we make and cancel another ressie, we forfeit the points.

Have you tried advertising your Scotland week on the Rent/Trade Board? Maybe someone will see it there and be interested.

You might also send a PM to one of the mods for the UK Boards to see if you could mention it there.

Best wishes -

Interval International does not allow you to rent out weeks that you've exchanged into.

You're allowed to give the week to someone else, in which case you're supposed to buy a guest certificate from II. But you're not allowed to charge rent.

That doesn't mean it never happens. I'm sure that people work out deals all the time with friends, family, and co-workers, in which the "guest" pays money for the week. But it's not supposed to happen.

Supposedly, the exchange companies, including II, monitor Web forums, eBay, and rental advertsising sites, looking for violators. There are consequences if you're caught.

Often the sellers also know that they should not be sold and sell it "cheaper"
Not too long ago I saw 7 nights at OKW/1BDRM for 1K (set dates) that would come to only 6.25/point.
