I was wondering what kind of requirments you need to work for Disney selling DVC memberships?
Do you basically need to be a licensed real estate salesmen, or do you just have to be lucky to get in there?
I was wondering because I dont think you need to be anything (but a pushy hardselling saleman) to sell a timeshare for any other resort so why would you need to be licensed to work at DVC?
I would love to work for Disney selling DVC,because of its no pressure approach I would just have to explain how DVC works and answer any questions would be the best job I ever had.

I'm pretty sure they are licensed real estate agents. I know some of them moved over to sales in Celebration when it opened. While it looks like an "easy" job, I think they put in a lot of effort and hard work. Just think about how many "just looking" folks they have to go through to find those who have a desire to buy. That said, I'd love to work along side you at DVC! ;)

I know our guide has been a long time and everytime i call it seems like he is on vacation, then when i do get a hold of him he tells me all about his trip, hmmmm, where do i sign up too?::MinnieMo

I hope I didnt make it sound like I thought this would be a cake job. Im sure there is alot of paperwork and people that dont buy. But since I like the product I think talking to people about it would be a good job for me.

NO, you didnt make it sound like a piece of cake, i know its hard work and carrying that weight on your shoulder until the two week grace period is up, that everything is finalize and the buyer cant back out, just alone spending 60-90 min. per family explaining over and over about DVC and then no commitment, but i guess it sure would make the day go by fast and just to meet all those wonderful people, and talking about the subject that i ::lovestruc , were do i sign up?princess:

I still wish I knew. I'm a career salesperson, and this is one product I could get up in the morning and be excited to represent. When we lived in Florida, I tried twice get on. Back then, you didn't have to have a license. You do now.

They advertise in the Orlando Sentinel as they need guides. You can try going to the Disney website. They have a career section, which I used look at regularly. They don't post anywhere near all of their open positions there, but at least you can submit a resume and cover letter and let them know of your interest.

I thought the same thing as far as DVC sales being a great job!

They get to go on DCL all the time.

My guide was on the DCL when I visited the BWV sales center and the young lady that showed me around had transferred to DVC sales from Member Services, so Im sure they do alot of in house promoting/hiring too.

Let me know what you find out as I have narrowed my retirement jobs down to DVC sales and Cinderella! LOL

I used to work at TDS in PA and one of our workers transfered from the store to the Sales office at BW.....Of course it isn't an easy gig to get and most don't start as sales people (at least now a days)...Most newbies start at the kiosis...

I've thought about this too... but, I'm not in sales. I tell my kids, that when I retire I'm going to get a job driving the Disney bus!

I do have a question... Are the guides DVC members? I mean, if you live there and spend your day talking about DVC all day long, wouldn't you want to get away from Orlando, WDW, or DVC?

Do you ever vacation at resort hotels in the city you live?

A lot of them are. I'm sure they visit Vero and HHI as well as WDW. Also, can you think of a better "guest house" than having the friends and relatives stay at a WDW DVC resort? ;)

My guide,Linda said she uses her points to go on the cruise so I guess some are members.

Our guide (salesman) owns at HH.

That's what I figured. After selling the product day after day, there'd be no way you could buy from the competition. If it were me, I'd probably go for HH or VB points.

Our guide Julie is also a member at HH. I'm sure with living in Orlando they like to get away from the World for a little bit.

Don't forget about the discounts for CMs.

I'm sure those discounted points are a deal the guides just can't resist!
