Can you sell your dvc contract prior to using your booked vacation?

Any existing reservations are cancelled when a contract is sold. I believe the cancellation takes place during the closing process.

Some sellers with existing reservations put a stipulation in the contract stating that the closing must take place after the dates of their vacation.
