I'm thinking of trying to sell my 3 Disney big figs to help fund a trip {or 2} next year. I'm a veteran Ebay'er so I'm familiar with that. I'm wondering about if CraigsList would be a good market to sell them? I'd rather not ship since they're so big, fragile, and don't have a box or anything. In addition, I've tried finding some recent purchase prices for the pieces so I'd know what to expect, but haven't had a ton of luck. The 3 pieces I'm looking to sell are Pirate Mickey {pretty good idea as to that one's price, fairly available on Ebay}. The other 2 which I can't locate anything on are my Mickey & Minnie dressed as Capt Hook and Maleficent. The other one is the Mayor from Nightmare Before Xmas from several years back. Any advice or input you guys can give would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had to google "Disney Big Fig" to figure out what you were talking about. I thought you were talking about fruit trees! :confused3

:rotfl: I would have thought the same thing BUT I have one of those big figs (Lady & The Tramp)

OP- you know with eBay you can list and say for pick-up only or for drop off within a 20 miles radius (for an example) that's what people do with furniture and large items....bidders can do a search within their zipcode to narrow a search ...as far as Craigs List, I wouldn't do that..I know some people swear by it but I don't trust it I would even maybe go to one of the flea market/swap meets in your area you have some good ones in your state are you near any? maybe rent a table for one of the weekend days..probably cheaper when all is said & done between eBay and Pay Pal fees..FWIW I think all 3 would sell they're pretty popular...Good Luck to you

I think you might get a fairer value of them, if you went with ebay vs Craigslist. In my area, I saw Big Fig's once (a Goofy and a Mickey) and the person was selling them for $40 each. I don't know if they sold at that price or not. It would depend on how many Disney fans are in your area.

Thank you! I thought I was the only one out of the loop on what the heck a "big fig" was!!:lmao:

So for anyone who's used Craigslist before, are there a few quick pointers/things to keep in mind/be careful of that I need to know concerning the process?

I tried it this spring for the first time. The nuts came out...2 people with "money in hand" wanted it...from another country (it was a basketball hoop!!!) another lady, we waited for her to come and see it twice and she no showed. But she REALLY wanted it, turned someone else away and she no showed yet again! So we still have the darn thing.
