So I'm considering NOT getting the park hopper this time. Usually all about it. But it's just me and DD3 this time. We went last November and HS was a 3 hour thing for us. She likes the Belle show, hated the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, doesn't watch Disney Junior and isn't into Toy Story. She's normally not up late enough for fireworks.

I put a plan together for September and it looks like I could get away with base tickets IF I skip HS. Is it really worth the extra $120 this time around?

Thanks!

Thoughts?

I would skip it! Sounds like she doesn't like the things for her age there. I am skipping it next time too, we had an ok time but it was it least favorite park. Although had our favorite rides, star tours and tsmm.

fantasmic is my favorite show. I love the idol experience & Indiance jones show. Hubby loves star tours plus we live brown derby & primetime 50s diner. The backlot tour is pretty cool too plus u can see walt's museum at one mans dream. I guess it just depends what you are looking for. You can go see Fantasia mickey @ Character greet & animation tour :) I love DHS personally.....

I would skip it. She will enjoy it more when she is older (and taller). My son loved the Jedi Training Academy, and was able to ride RnRC for the first time. We all love TSMM. Surprisingly, my daughter did not want to see the BatB show, either. We also did Animation Academy and Muppets 3-D.

I love DHS. Does she not like the toy story ride? Because even if it wasn't you story, I think it's pretty awesome. But I'm excited to go this time because like you in normally I short trip and we are giving it more time. We are doing

-stunt show
-B&B
-little mermaid ( I could pass on this though)
-muppets
-toy story
-honey I shrunk the kids play ground
-animation class or whatever it's called
-characterpaloza ( spelled wrong sorry)
-fantasmic!

But at the same time don't spend $ if you feel like its not worth it

There are lots of fun things for young kids at HS, but if your child isn't into Disney Jr. or Toy Story I'd say skip it. Most of the things a 3 year old can do there are centered around these things.

While I would never skip it (for me) if I were traveling with a 3 year old like yours, we'd totally skip it.

Sounds like it's not worth the $$ or the effort for you. We are similar. My kids only do a few things at HS so if it's not Christmas time, we usually only do a 1/2 day morning that includes TSMM, RnR and a few other smaller attractions. RD and done before lunch.

Rahter than hopping, another option would be to go to HS on arrival or departure day- when you only have three hours. It would probably cost less than hopping. You don't say how long you are going to be at WDW, but if you are goiing for three days or more, then going to HS on a 'partial' day would probably only cost about $12 per pseron (less than half the pricce of hopping). Sometimes less if you are getting tickets via UT (sometimes three and four day tickets are the same price).

I'm going to agree with the above posters. DW and I love Hollywood Studios for ToT, RnRc, Star Tours, and Midway Mania, but your daughter sounds like she's too young for most of though. I'd skip and have more time in MK or AK!

My opinion is no, HS is not worth the price of park hopper. Its my least favorite and the one park I have no desire to go back to.

Skip it! Without Disney Junior, Toy Story, or the Mermaid show - I concur that the park might not keep a 3 yo girl interested for the day.

Thanks everyone! I will go with my gut and the majority and skip it. We are there for 6 says and DD loves MK and AK. I ws thinking 3 days at each and one Epcot day for me (and Akershus Princesse breakfast).

If I change my mind, I still can add it there. I know 3 days at MK and AK sound like alot but we are rope drop to 1pm people. Sometimes again in the evening of we dinner there.

The first time we went as a family, my kids were 5.5, turning three while we were there, and 13 months. We had plans to go to DHS one day, since DH loves Star Wars and it was a Star Wars weekend.

However, once we got there and thought more about it, it didn't make sense for us to go for many of the reasons you list. We wound up doing Epcot and had a great time.

Three years later, we returned and did DHS...and it was a favorite park for two of my kids.

We hated HS 4 years ago. Other than the fantasmic show not much for our family at that time except crazy crowds and we were in one pf lowest weeks (after researching this time around I'm convinced it was because it was a Saturday and an EMH day). my kids did not like disney jr and they were 2 and 4 at the time. Really very little for young ones.

My 2 yr old son was actually terrified of buzz lightyear character during meet & greet. :(

And with 2+ hr lineup we didn't even try TSM.

This year a whole other story! 4 yrs later they are both dying to do star tours jedi training watch the stunt shows american idol TSM sci fi dine in characterpolooza (except DS5 had me swear that King Candy from Wreck it Ralph would not be there as he keeps having "Turbo" nightmares) etc

Its all about the age imho

I think you are smart to skip the PH and DHS this time. There is so much to do at WDW...you will never see it all in one visit anyways. No biggie to miss one of the major parks. You can always fit it in another time, if it seems like she would be more interested in it then.
