I have been going to DLR a lot this year. Just as
@mom2rtk said that I had no problem bringing in my tripod in the parks. But in June during the summertime, I was stopped by a CM at the security check point and was told that I couldn't bring it in. I think that DLR didn't let people use tripods during that time was the summer crowds where it can be busy. I was told that day by the CM's that the DLR website would say that tripods are not allowed in the park says it on the website. It has been almost 5 months and it still says the same thing where you can bring a tripod in as long as it fits inside a standard backpack. The CM's have at times different opinions on how to deal with tripods at the DLR from what I heard and read. I use a MeFoto Roadtrip tripod and I never had a problem with it until this past summertime.
I was at WDW earlier in October and I had no problem bringing my tripod in the parks.
I was at the parks a few weeks ago and I didn't bring my tripod to the park since I don't want to bring it back to my car/hotel. From my walking around during those times, I barely didn't see guests with a tripod with them or using it. Another good option I use instead a tripod is a gorilla pod which has the bendable legs which can be versatile.
