Selfie Stick Usage @ Downtown Disney and pool area

I know selfie sticks are blocked in parks, but are they allowed in hotel pool area, any restaurants, or in Downtown Disney area?

I know selfie sticks are blocked in parks, but are they allowed in hotel pool area, any restaurants, or in Downtown Disney area?

I'm not sure about the pool area or restaurants in the hotels but all of Downtown Disney is inside the security checkpoint and they are not allowed through security so definitely a "no" for DTD.

Personally I'd leave them at home. The rules clearly call out parks and water parks, but I would think restaurants would ban them and wouldn't shock me if the hotels did the same thing.

I agree with the pp that it is just easier and safer to leave the selfie sticks behind. Anywhere within the security zone will not allow them. And there is usually a CM handy to take your photo in the parks, hotels, and restaurants. If you can't find a CM, there is almost always a friendly fellow guest who will take your photo.
