Self service ordering at CS restaurants

What is the proper procedure for using the self service kiosks at the CS restaurants? Last year I was "smart" enough to use this at Pecos Bill's. I didn't really know what to do after ordering though. I just kind of wandered up to the window and waited for my number to be called. I think I even had to go in through the exit area to get up there...I felt like I was cutting in line, but I didn't see any other way to do it. If I got in the cashier line, I would have been in line behind people who haven't even ordered yet. So what is the proper way to do it?
