I love the idea of making our own autograph book. I know my DD5 would love to help. What did you use to make yours? Do you have any pictures? I am pretty crafty and one of my hobbies is scrapbooking but I am drawing a blank on this one. We only have a couple weeks to get this completed.

Thanks for your ideas!!

I bought 3 of the foam cover books in Walmart - by the arts & crafts section. I also bought a pack of the foam stick on letters - they look like puzzle pieces. I spelled each kid's name on the cover of the book.

I let each kids pick out a sheet of stickers at the Dollar Tree. They put their stickers all over the covers (inside and out - 4 total pages). Then I painted the Modge Podge - several coats - on all 4 cover pages - to seal everything and make it waterproof so the stickers won't come off.

I then searched for disney clip art on the internet and downloaded the most popular characters. I opened a blank page in Word, inserted the pictures, sized them so that I could fit about 3 across the page and 4 rows down - approx. 12 characters per sheet. Then I printed the pages on sticker sheets. I'm debating on whether I should spray a gloss spray on top of the stickers so if they do get wet somehow, the ink won't run. (I posted this question, but haven't heard back from the experts yet.)

I'll post my pictures when everything is complete.

Good luck and have fun!

Creative Memories has a Disney album and snap pack that you can put together and use that as an autograph book. Have the characters sign one side and put the picture of the kids with the character on the other. That's my plan, anyway!!

My girlfriend made a really nice one for our trip in august. Maybe I can have her post a picture or 2 for you. :wizard:

Me, too. I cut out 4"x6" colored acid-free, lignin-free paper from 12x12 sheets, and got a mini-clipboard for presenting them for signing. We'll assemble the album once we're home.

What I plan on doing is printing out clip art on cardstock. each character having their own page. then when i see them i'll have the page ready for them. oh yeah, and I'm getting it binded at kinkos for like 4 bucks!

courtney

ps i'm also using clickey sharpies

I've begun printing mine on 4 x 6 card stock. I am still creating new ones too. I am going to put them in alphabetical order and hole punch the top corner and just hold with a ring. My daughter is going to have the characters sign their card with clickable sharpie-like pens I bought today.

When we get home, I am going to laminate the cards. And my dad has made her a leather 4x6 photo album that says something like, "Cameron's 2006 Disney Memories" and it has been decorated with paintings(? i think it's paint, not sure how you do this on leather, he's the expert) of the Fab5.

We will put the autograph card on one side and a picture of her with the character on the other. A few of the cards are below. We don't have the album yet. It's for her birthday (she doesn't know about the book) which is about a week after we get back.

Here are pics of some of my cards.

They look great.

ksloane-LOVE your cards!

I printed simple clipart on 4x6 blank index cards. I used a coupon sorter to sort them into categories like Fab 5, Pooh & Friends, and Princeses...it worked well for finding the cards in the park(I made the tab labels after I took this photo). I still need to print out the photos to put with the signed cards in a Pooh photo album I found at Walmart.

I also made cards for Epcot with flags for each country. We were celebrating DD's 7th birthday so we asked the CM's from each country to sign "Happy Birthday" in their language.

We bought a scrapbook notebook 5x5 in size and bought some really neat paper from Michael's. We bought princess stickers and then added ribbon to the spirals and such. I got the idea from the DIsigns board. It really turned out awesome. Also, on the Tips board you can find pics if you search for autograph books. :wizard:

I LOVE the idea of a hand made photo album/autograph book but I am not creative at all. :guilty: Does anyone know of a place where you can purchase hand made or unique albums? I have gone on Ebay and all that I have seen is the small spiral book autograph books. I would love an album that is at least 4 X 6 so that the character can sign on one side and put a picture of them on the other. Can anyone help me with this??? :Pinkbounc

Here is a link to my photobucket album to see more. I've not uploaded some of them yet as I am having to go to workshops this week and not going to have much computer time, but will get back after it next week.

New2Disney2006, I have mine online and a couple others do too. I will look for those links if I can find them. If you wanted (I know I wouldn't mind and I bet they wouldn't either), you could just download our cards and print them.

Ok. I found a link or two.

1. look in UP Disney's Signature and there is a link to her autograph pages.
2. look 2 more messages down and rosie has a link to hers

Both have more than I currently do, but between theirs and what I plan to add to mine, I bet you'd have a wonderful start (maybe finish)

Thank you soooo much for your help. :yay: I am going to give it a shot and hopefully they will turn out O.K. I really appreciate you responding...
