Self Booking

MS has the survey about making reservations on the Internet vs. Ma Bell -

I like talking to MS.
 
Off I go to complete my survey!
 
I'm all for self-booking. MS hours are not as convenient as a 24/7 web site.

Also, as we discussed on another thread, cost savings for members would pay for the site all by itself.
For members who prefer the personal touch or are not as computer savy, the 800 # would always be available.

I prefer talking to a real person in real time. It seems to me internet booking would always have a bit of a delay, and I couldn't ask what WAS available.
 
The point of internet booking is to not have to ask what is available, you would be able to see what is available and book it.

If you prefered speaking to a warm body, you could still do that. The self-booking option would be just an option.
 
I would love to have the option to be able to book on the Internet...every time DVC has asked about "improvements" that's been my #1 request. I'm hoping that on-line booking would mean I could do it outside of MS's normal hours, which are tough for me since I live on the west coast.

If this is the case, I'm all for it. But right now, all you can do online is put in a request for your 1st and 2nd choice and wait to hear back if anything is available. If they have live showing of what is available, and you could get an immediate confirmation, then this is what I'm voting for.

I agree. I wouldn't use online booking unless it showed what was available for all DVC resorts and you got immediate comfirmation. It would make me crazy to wait and wonder :crazy: I think it would be even harder (to wait and wonder) to use the website for high demand times. If I was going on a high demand time or if it was anything other than a DVC resort (like II or one of the other Collections) I would definately want to talk to MS.

I am new to DVC and have only made one reservation so far. They were friendly, quick, and efficent when I made my ressie. I was probably on the phone at total of 3 or 4 min once they answered. Of course, I had all my info right there, knew exactly what I wanted and when, and it was available.

Just speaking in general about ressies of anything made online, I wouldn't make them if I couldn't see what was available and get immediate confirmation, I will always call.
