Deoes anyone know the details on renting segways? How much does it cost and where, etc?

Sure looks like fun!

Segways are available at Epcot. The experience lasts two hours - one hour of instruction and one hour of riding through World Showcase before it opens to the public at 11:00am. You will have a Cast Member with you at all times - there is a brief time of "free riding" but it's in an area marked off by safety cones. I think it's $80.00. It's soooo much fun!!!!!!!

I'm guessing that's one we'll have to do after the kids are a bit older. Sounds a little 'spensive for this trip! Thanks for the info!

How far in advance can this be booked? Thanks!

Riders have to be at least 16 to ride the Segways - so you have time to save up! There are discounts available - we used AAA and I believe it was $68 for the two hour Segway Experience. It really is fun - you get to ride around the World Showcase prior to opening. If you ever have the opportunity - it's a "must do" event.

We did a Segway tour on our last trip and it was so much fun! :goodvibes As said before, you are "trained" for one hour inside a room of an Epcot building (I can't remember which building...but it had a resturaunt and it is where they offer many flowers for sale during the F&G Festival).

The training involves learning how to balance the machine (which is actually a LOT easier than you may think!), forward, backward, moving in and around a series of orange cone setups, and going over a small ramp that simulates the curbs you will encounter once out in the park.

The tour really begins for the second hour in which you and your group are guided by a CM around a portion of Epcot. Our group stayed mainly in the World Showcase, and I'm pretty sure that is where most groups tour. As I said before, the tour was absolutely awesome and if you have the time and money I HIGHLY recommend it!

I believe it was $80/person. You must be 16 years old and between 100 and 250 pounds.

15% discount for DVC members also. I booked it as a Christmas gift for my hubby, 16 yr. old son, and his friend. We are going at the end of March and both days I asked about were available when I called to book a couple of days before Christmas.

Sdenis probably knows this, but you can't just 'rent' Segways at Disney. You can, hoewver, book a tourl
