My tall football player looking DH is 260 lbs. We are 1 month away from our Segway tour, which we'll be doing for my birthday (and are so excited). I'm worried that he won't be able to drop 10 lbs before our trip, and even if he does, all scales aren't the same. So, my question is this- do they actually weigh people who look to be close to the 250 mark? I'm considering cancelling since we'll be getting a sitter for the kids to do this and would be terribly disappointed if, after going through all the trouble, he isn't able to do the tour. Any information or advice?

I had the same concerns since my son is 260lbs. 6'2" tall. No they don't weigh you and never even questioned us about weight. go have a great time, its a wonderful tour!! They also never looked at the "picture ID" that they told us about on the phone. That after going like a madwomen to get my son a passport, since he didn't have a drivers license!!

Thanks! I won't cancel then and will "take my chances" that they won't make him weigh.

The 250 lb limit comes from Segway Corporation according to our tour leaders. With more weight the batteries use more power, and may take longer to recharge. Don't worry -- no scale in sight!
