Just wondering have far in advance can you book this? Also, does it fill up right away or can you get it more on a "last minute" basis? I may be doing a short "girls only" weekend in June and thought this might be fun!
You can only book this and any other back stage tours at the 90 days window. We tried to book this tour and another for our christmas trip and were told it would not be possible until the 90 day mark. I'm not sure how quickly it books up, sorry.
This is a "small group" tour, due to limited number of Segways, so I would advise booking as early as you possibly can. We did this last year, and I believe there were 10-12 in our group. If you can get it, I would highly recommend the Segway tour. DH and I had a blast!
Also, if they are offering any type of discount, you want to sign up early. when we made our reservations last year, we were able to get the time and date we wanted but the designated slots for the discounts were already booked. I can't recall if it was the Disney credit card, annual pass, or DVC (since we have all three). we still received a discount, it was just not as much as we could have received. by the way, this was so much fun.
I booked the Segway tour a couple weeks ago for our Mid April trip. No problem getting either time slot on the day I was booking (a Friday)
Just to let you know...if you have AAA, they do offer a discount of 15%. They don't tell you this so you have to tell them! I hadn't realized it when I booked mine so I had to call back and credit the original reservation and rebook it.
Danauk - Interesting that you were not able to book for your Christmas trip. I have already booked for our trip in October, have a Confirmation # and all. We booked using the AAA discount and it was $68 per person. It is my understanding that each group is 10 folks and there are 2 times each day - so only 20 people each day. As the word spreads, I am sure it will become difficult to book, which is why I called so early.
I can't wait!
I think I will call again and ask. We tried 2 weeks ago to book a segway tour and the back stage magic tour. The CM said we had to wait for the 90 day window for both. We wanted to book early as we know Christmas is very busy.
I have already booked the Segway Tour for 4 Adults for Dec. 11th, 2005. I had no problem making the ressie. I had to pay in full the day I booked. The ressie can be cancelled up to 48hrs in advance. I was given a confirmation number and I checked to see that my credit card was charged. I used the Disney Tour phone number 407-939-8687. We chose the 8:30 time. There is also a 9:30 start time as well. Good Luck and Have fun!!
Thanks for the info guys. I will phone again and try and book (well actually I will have to get my friend to phone who we are going with as they are DVC members so they can get the discount.) I hope we can still get a tour on the day we want.
DH and I would like to do the Segway Tour next trip but our kids won't be old enough. They will be 13 1/2 and 10 1/2 when we go. If we booked the 9:30 tour we thought they could take one of the 2 way radios and hang out together in Innoventions and FW while we did the tour. Our kids are very comfortable with the idea, not sure I am yet. Should add we have been to Disney several times and they know their way around.
No flames please, just seeking constructive comments.
Thank you.
Vicb- If your kids are comfortable with the idea and know you can be reached "just in case" you might want to try it, but only you know your kids. Just be sure they know they HAVE to stay together. My kids could spend hours in Innoventions at the video games and yours would probably never know you left them for a couple of hours. The Electric Umbrella restaurant is right next door if they decide they need a bit to eat, but I doubt they'll stray far from the various video games.
