Are there any restrictions on the Segway tour? I'd love to try it, but I'm such a klutz and I am in my 50s (don't heal as quickly as I used to). So I'm afraid to try to sign up for this tour because I might be the first one either rejected or asked to leave class!

In your FIFTITES... and you think that's OLD?

:rotfl2:

I hope you're KIDDING!

Heck, the vast MAJORITY of the population of the USA is in their 50's.
(And don't get me started on the "average" age of folks who live in Florida.) :rotfl:

No, I don't think they'll turn your "withered tired old bones" away.
:teeth:

I'm going on the segway tour this next trip, DS is taking me for fathers day, and I'm 59, can't wait to give it try.

Oh, no way! The only reason they would ask you to leave is if you do not follow directions or if you "hot dog"! The instructors are incredibly patient and understanding if you have any trouble catching on. Do it! You will be soooo glad you did! :thumbsup2

We did the Segway tour this past January and enjoyed it very much. The only restrictions are that you must be at least 16yrs of age and weigh less than 250lbs.

I've been on this tour twice. The first time there was someone who was way, way older than you and I think he had the best time of all!

The second time I brought my extended family along, and once again my parents are way older than you are and pretty klutzy to boot. The did great and loved the experience.

Please---GO FOR IT! It's wonderful and you'll be so glad you did. :sunny:

My husband and I went on this tour and we are grandparents. For myself never again for me still glad I did. I was the slowest one of the group. My husband had a ball of course he went faster and did everything and wants to go again. It all depends on yourselve. They give you a hemet and lessons inside before you go out. It is a very balanced machine. Like I said glad I did. :dance3: :dance3:

The tour is a Blast. We had a gentleman in our group that was in his 70's. He did pretty good. He did end up falling, but it was because we were in a line and someone walked through the line so the person in front of him had to stop fast. He didn't stop and went up the curb. Could've happened to anyone. After the tour, I was begging my husband to buy me one. I was addicted. They are too cool.

I (only 25) went on the tour with some friends and Fiance last October, however, I am one of the biggest klutz's there is!

I actually RAN INTO one of the instructors during the classroom part. :rolleyes1 He asked me to come forward and then try to stop. . . well the coming forward part, no problem! The stopping didn't go nearly as well. They didn't kick me out of the class!

Needless to say, my friends/fiance had a field day with that one!

My girlfriend and I are going in December (girls only trip) and are going to try this. We are in our 50's and we're being teased by our husbands that we won't be good drivers. My friend has hit a few of those orange cones along the highway while work was being done. This happend about 6 years ago in Florida when we were on another Disney trip. We're lookin forward to it. But look out everyone, Epcot might not be safe while we're riding Segways.

Thanks so much for being willing to share your story. I was afraid that I'd be the first one to run into the instructor. I guess they've seen it all. After listening to all these stories, I've got courage now-I AM going to do this!

Tonight I booked a Segway tour for our family. I'm so nervous and its not till December! The CM said if I can ride a bike I can do this - - well I didn't tell her I can't ride a bike and never have been very good at it!!! I booked it for the first day of our trip. Maybe I should change it to the last day so if one of us breaks a bone or something it won't ruin the whole trip! Congrats to all those courageous souls who mastered the Segway!!!

Liz - I can't ride a bike either, but I did the Segway tour last year and had a blast! I also got to try a Segway at the Minneapolis Home & Garden Show a couple of months ago, and it came back to us both very easily. Do it, you'll love it!
