Hi, Can someone tell me about Blizzard and Typhoon? Do they both have large swimming pools? I see Typhoon has a wave pool, does Blizzard have one? How long are the lines for the slides? How crowded are these parks? How close are they to the Swan Hotel? I will be in Disney from Wed, 8/31 - Mon, 9/5. How crowded will the water parks be labor day weekend? I have 4 days of waterparks remaining on my hopper plus tickets from 2003. Are the waterparks alot more fun than the pool at the Swan? Thank you, Mindy

BB does have a wave pool, but the waves are very small and continuos- more like bobbing along. If you get there when it opens or even 15-20 minites before you should be able to get good seats and no wait in lines for about an hour. :cool1:

Hi Mindy.
Blizzard does have a decent size wave pool, whilst the pool at Typhoon is called a surf pool (extra large waves).
Unfortunately, both of these parks are extremely busy throughout the year, and it's not unusual for them to have reached capacity by mid morning. Once the parks are full, no more guests are let in, and obviously the large crowds mean long lines at the most popular slides.
Having said that, don't be put off. They are great fun, perhaps my favourite part of the whole resort. Just make sure you arrive early, if possible before opening time (usually 10AM).
Cheers, Carl.

We'll be at POR the same time frame. Neither of the waterparks has a real pool. The wave pools are as the posters ahead of me had said. We go to the water parks all the time since we have PAP. You really need to know how to tour the parks before you go to avoid the long lines. Being a holiday weekend, the water parks will be more crowded. Possibly even reaching capacity by early afternoon. My son(11) would say the waterparks are more fun than the resort pools.

Do you have children or just adults going? I can PM you how to avoid the crowds and get the most of your time there.

I've become a pro with holidays and the waterparks. My neice and nephew have passes only for the waterparks and DTD. They can only visit us at Christmas, Easter and summer. When we were there at Easter time, we were able to do all the slides by 1pm since we knew which slides to hit when. The rest of the time they were able to do the wave pool and the lazy river.

I am going back to America in September with my daughter. I was wondering whether BB or TL is best for a 3 year old.

We did go in April, but left her with grandparents at apartment. Spent that much time on Crush n Gusher didn't really focus onn what she would be able to go on.

Each one has their own pluses for children. We have a 1 year old, an 11 year old, and PAPs. We go mostly to BB. There is the same amount of stuff for the toddler to do at each one. There is more sand to dig at TL. I prefer the set up of the children's area at TL. There are less steps to climb and easier for the child to navigate. In my opinion, I've found the kiddie area less crowded at BB than TL. I think most parents with small kids do go to TL.

Just back from my trip. We were at TL on Monday. It was pretty crowded. You have to try Crush n Gusher! We loved that. Get there early and to that first thing. We never waited more than 15 minutes to get on in the morning - did it 4 times. The other slides were very crowded and didn't seem to move as quickly. By noon, it was hard to get on anything. :flower:

Hi, Please do e-mail me info on how to do the waterparks on a crowded holiday week-end. Thank you for your help. My daughter will be 10 and she likes waterslides, and wavepools, but not long lines. We have a waterpark near us and on hot week-ends the slide lines are 1/2 hour so we don't wait. We get there when it opens and use the wave pool for the first hour, until the wave pool gets so crowded that you can't streatch your arms out without hitting people, then we go to the pools. Do the Disney wave pools get that crowded? What about crowds on Friday at the waterparks, before labor day. I am thinking of arriving at the Swan on Tues and doing the parks Wed and Thurs, when I don't think they will be too crowded, then the waterparks. What do you think??? Thanks for your help!

PM sent.

At Eastertime, the wave pool at TL did get that crowded. My 11 year old was complaining about all the people crashing into him. Usually most crowded from 2pm-5pm. We've never run into the wave pool at BB being too crowded that you can't move. I'd expect Sat and Sun to be the most crowded.
