TLDR: Looking for pictures of animatronics from it's a small world from Disneyland from 1980s - 1990s, specifically the African ones.
The long story:
I recently purchased one of the small world animatronic heads from the big Joel Magee auction from Van Eaton Galleries. I'm a long time doll collector and Disney fan and have always wanted one of the legit, animatronic small world dolls for my collection. I have many of the commercially produced small world dolls and this has now become the pièce de résistance. Because I could never afford to get a full animatronic, I bought the head with the intention to have someone make a body for me. Luckily, a doll maker that I'm very close with reached out to me and is going to create a body for me (I posted about it on YouTube and she saw my videos about it).
What I think will be amazing is to find a photo of the *actual animatronic* that this head was on in the attraction. According to the auction, it was park-used during the 80's-90's. It has some very unique discoloration around the mouth and nose, so I feel like if I had clear enough pictures or video, I would be able to say for sure if it was the same one. I'll attach close up pictures here of the head I have. I would really appreciate if you have any photos from this time period from Disneyland if you would compare and see if you think it's the same. I think it would be so cool to have the outfit from the ride recreated for my project doll and to restore this guy or gal to their original glory.
