Seeing baby okapi at Kidani

We are staying at VWL now and wanted to go over to Kadani to see the baby okapi, does anyone have any info on what time of day is best? Traveling with two small children I would hate to get over there only to find they are not out.

I wouldn't try in the afternoon ...... we've stayed at both buildings at AKL several times and the afternoon seems to be a down time / nap time. Feeding times are best for animal viewing, and I don't know if these vary at all with the seasons or are set hours. We saw many animals on our trips there, and particularly early in the morning (7-10 AM) and around 5-6 PM.

The Okapi are on the Pembe savannah, I'm not sure if there is a public viewing area for that savannah. It's near the pool.
