Security questions for the Disney parks

Hi I have a question about security and bag checks at Disney World. I remember from 2017 when we went last time that all the bags have to be unzipped. I was wondering if clear bags are used in backpacks, do they have to be unizipped or can they be checked as is since you can see through them? Thanks so much.

I put smaller items into clear bags and my experience has been that if the security personnel can turn the bag and easily see what's in it, they haven't opened it. They did remove the bags from the backpack (after the first time, I just removed them myself as they checked the person ahead of me). My last visit was September 2018.

I usually only have 1-2 clear zipper bags (like pencil cases if that makes sense), and they aren't packed full (one is usually sharpies and index cards for autographs and the other one is a few diapers and wipes so the diapers aren't soaked in the event of a downpour). Sometimes I have one more small bag with "first aid" items (chafing powder/ band aid/ ibuprofen).

One CM at MK looked at the bags and exclaimed "you're a pro! You came ready today! This is great!" Overall I try to bring as little as possible into the parks to begin with. Now, that isn't to say they don't ever open the bags or won't start opening the bags so YMMV.

We usually pack princess dresses in clear plastic bags, mostly to control the glitter. The CM's took the bag out, patted it to make sure there wasn't anything weird in the middle, and that was it.

Who knows? Maybe?
With the inconsistencies from guard to guard I'd never say you'll never have to open them
Sometimes it seems one will barely glance in a bag with 50 zippers and others spend 20 min searching a bag that's 5" long.

My wife uses a few clear bags in her back pack. This makes is much quicker to get through security. It does depend on the guard, but she is always quicker with her system. Lets do what we can to make it easier on those guards.

My thoughts exactly! I don't bring much but the loose items I do have go into clear zippered bags. If the CM wants/ needs to open them, at least it's one smaller bag of loose items rather than having to stick their arm into my bag and rummage around to "see" it all.

The answer is generally, it depends on the person doing the bag check and their mood at the moment.

I have a clear make up bag that I’ve taken with me the last few years. Most guards just turn it over to check both sides of it but last year I had several guards open it up and rummage through it, which I don’t like, but there’s not a lot you can do about it. It just depends on who you get and how thorough they are.

This is a good idea, I'll have to remember it. Plus it keeps everything waterproof in case it rains!
