Has anyone flown today? Can you describe if there were tighter security measures? Our next trip to MCO is on Wednesday morning, and we're wondering if we should get to CVG more than 2 hours ahead of the flight.

Thanks.

My mom, sister and I just flew today out of MCO today and security was pretty much the same. We didn't notice any tighter measures or extra precautions. I would highly recommend arriving for your flight more than two hours in advance, especially if your flight is scheduled for noon or sometime beyond noon. We had an early flight today, scheduled for 7:40am and arrived at the airport shortly after 5am. I'm glad we did because after 6am or so, security started getting very crowded and our flight was delayed a little because we had to wait for 10 to 12 passengers who got stuck in security. Anyways, an employee gave us the heads up that security was absolutely terrible yesterday and on the 1st of January, so I would recommend getting there as early as possible.

We just flew last week and noticed nothing different.

We arrived very early for our flight out of Logan on Dec 27th because we were anticipating big lines. It turned out there were none and it was the quickest we ever got through security. MCO on Jan 2 was very busy with long lines but I think that was just because so many people were traveling.

I flew last Sunday, 2 days after the incident and the only thing I noticed were that the Metal Detectors seemed to be going off more than usual which I attributed to higher sensitivity settings. I think two hours is fine unless the airport has notouriously long security lines.
