Security Check Question

I'm thinking of purchasing a ring for my daughter for her birthday. We're we will be WDW to celebrate her birthday. So my question is, how do I keep her ring in my carry on but she doesn't see it during security check? How will security handle it? Will they pull it out and ask for me to open the box?

Probably not. I always put my ipod/phone/charges/earphones in the carry on and have never had them checked. I would be careful that it not get stolen by the TSA.

Do you know if I can have it prewrap it or will that be something I would need to do at Disney? I'm trying to remember the rule at Christmas time.

I routinely carry jewelry inside my carryon through security; there is no reason why a TSO would need to investigate jewelry. If you can, put it in a zippered outer pocket and put the box inside a large ziploc; that way it will be difficult to palm, just in case you happen across a dishonest TSO.

Generally speaking it is best to avoid gift wrap until after you pass security; gift wrap attracts negative attention from TSO's.

From what I remember, gifts should NOT be wrapped when going through security.

Just leave the ring in your purse or other carry-on. A ring won't cause your bag to be searched. I would wait to wrap it.
