We've been on 17 Disney cruises in total, but Thanksgiving weekend was our first post-9/11 trip. The procedure at Port Canaveral has definitely changed! We always take Happy Limo to the port, and they used to be able to drive the towncar right up to the terminal building to drop us off. But now drop-offs are done in the parking lot. You keep your day bag, and the rest of your luggage is taken to the ship. You are taken to the terminal, which is just across the road, in a shuttle van. It wasn't really a major inconvenience. I figure it's a small price to pay to be safe. When you disembark, the procedure is similar but reversed: you take the shuttle van from the terminal back to the parking lot, where the towncars and limos are waiting.
