I thought I read awhile back on here about a special pin securing device that helps keeps pins better attached to lanyards. Am I dreaming or does something like this exist?

Thanks!

Yes it does!!!!!! Available wherever pins are sold.

They are called "locking backs". The way they work is
it is a small unit with a set screw you tighten with the enclosed
allen wrench.

We use them for the pins that our kids "DO NOT" want to trade
but show on their lanyards.

I think them come in a pack of 4 or 5 backs for about $4.

I would think they would be available through on line vendors.

Good luck in your search.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I have 2 young boys that tend to lose pins :\

We first tried the ones they sell at the park, but I wanted it on ALL the pins, and it's really difficult to use the tiny key to unlock them all the time. I found perfect ones on ebay, the seller is disneypatriot. I've bought them from him 3 times, as well as numerous friends. They are easy enough that my 5 and 9 yr old can take them on and off.

Good luck with whichever you choose!

Yes, we also have these type of pin backs and bought from this same seller. He has the best price and we will purchase another pack of 50 from him in July for our upcoming Aug. trip. They are so easy to use. You just pull the little knob on the back slip it on and release it. No tools!! Any kid can do it and you will not lose pins!:thumbsup2

I beleive they look similar to this

I was posting my trading strategy, and I saw your thread :rotfl2:

They don't look exactly like those, but very similar. Just look around at your resort store, or in Downtown Disney

Love the Disneypatriot ones!

I have to add, that the ones I am talking about are perfect to use on pins that you are wearing on your lanyard in the parks but want to trade. The ones that need a tool would be good for pins you just want to show off and not trade. It doesn't take a second to get the backs off the ones from Disneypatriot. My kids just tell the CM that they have a locking back and to keep their back when they are trading.;) Sometimes they look at her strangely when she tells them nicely to keep their back!:thumbsup2

After my DD lost a couple of pins at WDW and Dollywood:( she learned to only wear the ones she wants to trade. She also keeps a small zip pouch on the end of her lanyard for extra pin backs Mickey and locking. She always gives me the pins when she trades one that she know she will keep!:)

It's a shame its so much to get these shipped to the UK.

How often do pins fall off a lanyard? Should I go for it for my favourites. I never want to lose my Mike and Sully or Green Alien pins!!

Before I started using pin locks I never had any pins fall of my lanyard with the regular backings, however the pin locks will guarantee that they will not fall off because they are that good.

That's a relief to hear! Thank you. :)
