Secrets & Little Known Facts about rides

I don't disagree that not everyone notices every effect -- but the body of the Ghost Host ("Of course, there's always my way.") is a major effect that goes off every time.

Returning to the thread topic: Many HM fans know "Great Caesar's Ghost" is one of the happy haunts sitting at the table in the ballroom. However, eagle-eyed guests might also spot a second Caesar floating in from the hearse parked just outside the ballroom doors.

I hope this is not the result of flash photography on HM as well as your others, like the hidden mickey in the graveyard scene. :guilty:

If so, I beg you to never do that again. :sad2:

Everytime someone ruins the atmosphere of my ride by blinding me with their flash in the dark (yes, the people ahead and behind you will be very annoyed by it)... that means that I get back in line and have to wait to ride it again.
:hourglass

EVERY time this happens, I just sit there and hope that it wasn't someone's FIRST ride that just got ruined.

If you are on my boat in PotC, I will command you to stop immediately. The CMs need to make this rule more clear to some people. :crazy2:

Shucks; thanks for that. :goodvibes

Nobody can predict the future... but I'm told that the staffing cutbacks affect primarily those who A) aren't close to the Guests (i.e. management or "backstage" roles), and B) aren't members of the Service Trade Council Union (STCU). I'm both, so while I'm worried (and honestly; who wouldn't be?) I'm not terrified -- unlike some of my coworkers and friends.

Just FRI, the DL attraction you’re confusing it with was Monsanto’s Adventure Thru Innerspace where it appeared that after you boarded your “ATOMobile” you would subsequently be shrunk to the size of an atom... Or at least to the size of the Atomobile models they showed (complete with passengers).

Never injected into a body from what I remember, but, oh, that eyeball. That was freaky.

No, she was right, it is body wars. You were shrunken down but you were injected into a persons body and somehow educated you about the body. :teacher: it was reallie wierd, but cool at the same time! there was no individulal cars, it was one big stage-like seating, like the star tours.

I must always ride in UGOGIRL because I only ever hear Love in an Elevator and Walk This Way! S'okay - I love those songs!

me too! we usually sit in the ugogirl because that song is the only two songs I know from that ride!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

My daughter used to think that Cinderella's horse's name was "Eachday". Because when she was very young, we would read her the Golden Book Disney Cinderella story. It said that she would feed her horse, eachday.! :offtopic: Sorry.
off topic here too...last year my 4year old demanded we sing the Nemo song at Epcot,,we didnt know what he was talking about...he was getting pretty mad after 5 mins of us trying to think and singing songs we thought it might be. I asked him to sing a bit of it for us.. this is what he sang.. "there was a farmer had a dog and Bingo was his Nemo"!!

This may be common knowledge as I am new here and havent had time to read all of this thread yet, but has anyone noticed the figures of the lost guests on the TOT. I noticed on my last visit that during the middle of the fall, you get a split second view of the 3-4 guests out in front of the ride vehicle as the lights dimly flash. I had to ride twice just to get a good enough look to make sure I wasnt seeing things, but the figures are actually there. Kinda freaky.
There are actually the 4 guests that disappeared from the elevator. One drop shaft has the man and women and the other has the nanny and girl. Also the letters in the glass case in the lobby were removed because they were not approved by management. A showkeeping cast member did it and management didnt like it. I dont think it will be back.

I wasn't aware of this either! (I don't think...) I'll have to look harder the next time I'm dropping and screaming... Great tip!

Ok, here are some...

4. The statue of Walt and Mickey near the Castle has Walt pointing to the other end of Main Street, where there's a statue of Roy sitting with Minnie. Could Walt be saying, "Mickey, you have to go to Roy now. He'll take care of you when I'm gone."???

Um I'm a geek. That made me tear up. :sad1:

No, he couldn't.

Roy had already passed away when the statues were installed.

Buzz, do you happen to know when the statues were installed? I know Roy (the brother, not the nephew) died 2 months after WDW opened.

...and sometimes if you're lucky, in that same fountain you can even see a family of 10 sitting with their feet in it!

:lmao:

ok sorry, no flames please:goodvibes

I like at the end of POTC on the belt ride up to the gift shop, there's a 'peg leg' and foot to show you where to stand. That may have been mentioned already...

I doubt if I will ever forget this picture. (Or any of the others on that thread either.) LOL

Here's another one I just noticed on Saturday!

In the Jungle Cruise, in the temple, there are a pair of monkeys (a mother and a baby on its back) to your left just before you get to the golden Buddha statues.

The SAME pair of monkeys is also used in Living with the Land at Epcot. Again, to the left of your boat, in the rainforest scene.

Just another example of Disney recycling animatronics for different attractions.

The "Partners" statue, the one with Walt and Mickey, was installed in June, 1995 (the first one was installed at Disneyland in 1993). The "Sharing the Magic" statue, the one with Roy and Minnie, was installed in December, 1999. :)

My KTTK Guide also confirmed this.

Speaking of the Temple in the Jungle Cruise: The giant statue of a monkey-god? That's a real Hindu deity named Hanuman. Also: the cobras in the temple are similarly recycled at The Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios.

My friend says that there have been minor renovations to the treehouse over time... the mexico ride had literally remained unchanged.

I do know the Treehouse was down for refurb at some point a while ago. Don't remember exactly when or what was done.
