I think the second last # should be 7170 for the Dream & Fantasy.

I also have in my notes that 9566 on the Dream & Fantasy has an obstruction, not sure what exactly (beam?) I also don't have it in my notes if this stateroom was downgraded or not.

Another fan of the SV!
We sailed in 6634 on our first cruise, we have the same one booked for Miami in April 2014 and also for the WB Tranny in Sept 2014!

My friend is in 6134 for the Tranny and we have another friend in 7620!

Love them .. if only they were on deck 2 as that's my favourite deck! (I know, not very practical)!!!:confused3:rolleyes1

Just curious -- what do the Secret verandah rooms look like on the new ships? Other than the slight obstruction on the sides, I thought I had read that there are some issues with overhead obstructions so that looking up at the sky is a problem?

We got one of these for the 12-day Med in 2014. The cost savings is hard to beat. As others have noted, the Magic and Wonder secret verandah only accomodate 3 people. But if you're a party of 4, on the longer cruises, the cost savings of the secret verandah over a regular verandah can be sufficiently significant to go a long way toward paying for a second cabin.

For example, we have booked the 7A (secret verandah) and an 11B across the hall for the 12-day for about $870 more than putting all 4 of us in a 5C. Since OBC for on-board bookings is $200 per cabin, our total extra cost is only $670. On a long cruise that comes out to only about $50 per day for an entire second cabin.

I think the second last # should be 7170 for the Dream & Fantasy.

I'm booked in 7170 (a 6B when I booked) on the Fantasy in Dec. Does this mean that it's now a category 7? Not that it matters what it's called....I'm guessing my price won't change, right?.....

And I've just had some kind of fit as I changed out room on the 2014 9 night Wonder Alaskan from either 6608 or 6068(can't remember!) to the available 7120. Our quote dropped $750... There's 3 of us 3 adults).

Aaaiiieeeeeee

Congrats on getting one!
7120 is our favorite room on the classic ships!

I called last nite to inquire about availability of cabin(s) 9652 or 9152 on our upcoming Dream cruise and of course neither was available. I asked the CM on the phone if those were in fact cabins with a partially obstructed view from the balcony to which she replied that none of the balconys have obstructed views. Is this another case of a CM not being totally informed?

We are still looking at other dates for our cruise but I don't want to bug for these particular rooms if it's not necessary. Am I missing something? Just wanted to be sure I had the correct cabins to request to try and save a few $$. We aren't set on having a balcony but would definitely enjoy one if the price is right. There will be just 3 of us so I think a secret verandah cabin would be perfect.

Yup. She is just unaware that Disney took the partly obstructed 5As and moved them into the 7A navigator's verandah category, even though they don't have traditional navigator's verandahs.

The term "navigator's verandah" for these cabins is, to be sure, misleading -- even to CMs. But it was probably easier than creating a new category.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm hoping my travel agent gets back to me soon so I can check to see if I can snag a "secret verandah" for our May 2014 cruise.

So, you're the one who took my stateroom! ;)

Seriously, we have always cruised in room 7120 and it wasn't available when I booked the 9 night Alaskan, I should have kept checking. Oh well. Enjoy!

Oh noes!!!!! Well you can come by and visit. We shall treat her well! ;-)

It is on the starboard aft side.

Okay...so this is the side that faces the terminal at Port Canaveral, but Castaway Cay when docked? Also this room will be starboard which will face the fireworks? Just in case, we don't make it upstairs....I am sure I will though!!

I only have it booked for a 3 night weekend cruise with my daughter...was trying to decide whether to book this or the 11A and save $210.00...but I think I want the verandah!!! Two days to decide. :confused3

My hubby and I booked 6688 AFT on the Fantasy Eastern...can't wait, did a 4 night on the Dream in 6188. :)

I always book a navigators veranda.

It is a little more private and I'm not a sun worshiper. I prefer all the shade I can get.
In fact our first cabin was 7122. I had no idea 7120 was a regular veranda with a "obstruction".

Thanks!
