Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend 2026

Follow-up to my last post: runDisney was able to fix my husband's account and his race is showing up now. He was able to sign the waiver, too. Hooray! I was hoping we wouldn't have to sort it at the expo.

Now on to my next question. Anyone have experience with getting sick a few weeks beforehand and missing a week of training? Last Sunday, I did a 10K run and then Monday did a 12 mile run, so I've completed all my long training runs. But then last Tuesday I came down with a bug and haven't been able to work out all week. I'm assuming so long as I get my hydration and fuel back to normal, my training will take care of the majority.
I'm trying not to be too sad over this illness. This was my very first runDisney race that I had a POT to submit, and I was excited to be more prepared for this event than any other race in the past. In the end, so long as I get to experience the 10K with my kids that's all that matters.
(Ironic, last year during MW weekend, my whole family and I had the flu. Now during this year's MW, I got this. I'm telling myself this is my sign that I should stick with Half Marathons and pass on attempting the WDW Full. :rotfl: )

Since I'll have my family with me at DL, I'll have to pass on a Saturday meetup. Most likely, my kids will have me locked in Avengers Campus most of the afternoon.

So is there any interest in a meetup that weekend? Thinking of maybe Saturday somewhere at Downtown Disney. Not sure what venue would work, but something along the lines of the Hurricane Hannah meetup at WDW (i.e. an outdoor bar/space accessible to all).

Any DL veterans suggest anything? Nothing jumps out at me as a possibility.
If I recall, Splitsville has a pretty decent outdoor bar and seating area.

Both Tortilla Joes and La Brea Bakery/EOS are under construction.

Splitsville is a good suggestion. Are you looking for a place with dining and a bar? If not, there are several tables outside of DLander that might make a good place to meet.

Echoing jmasgat. I wouldn't worry at all about it and focus on recovery. You'll only delay that if you stress over it and push yourself to try to make up training. Last year, I missed out on a week of training due to a very rare snow storm hitting north Florida a week before race weekend, and I ended up PRing my half time!

No dining…just a space where people could gather with a few tables/chairs and access to some refreshments. Nothing that requires/allows a reservation. Bar
Areas—like the one at WDW at Hurricane Hannah’s off the Boardwalk—are good because everyone can access them (no park), they can get something to drink if desired and the adjacent tables/chairs are open to anyone.

@jrsharp21 or anyone else who might know….Is Splitsville’s outdoor space open seating, or is it part of their dining area?

Thanks for the support, everyone! I guess I should count myself lucky that this is my 7th race weekend (runDisney and non-runDisney) and the first time I've encountered any kind of illness beforehand.

There’s kind of a big lawn on the DL hotel side of DTD. It’s a kinda new space. I cant Remember if there are tables and such. Does anyone know where I mean?

Where the Din Tai Fung label is. Not sure on the chair situation though

Another option could be the outside sitting area of the Craftsman Grill at Grand Californian. The quick service one. There’s kind of a hallway of picnic tables and people could get food/drinks (prob basic or bring it from Heathstone) if wanted. Let me see if I can find a pic.

Is that the area to the side/behind the Earl of Sandwich building?

Just saw your pic. That is the area I was thinking also.

It’s on the other side of the walking path from the new Earl location. I usually see a bunch of kids running around. I’m really trying trying to remember if there are tables.

I'm referring to the tables under the covering next to the stores. Im at work but will look through my old photos at home. Here are some pics of the area on the Disneyland app.

Ugh, I must have deleted my old photos. I'll try to take some more the next time I am in the parks.

I think The Alley outside of Splitsville is open to anyone but I'm not 100% sure. How many people are you thinking of?

Okay…maybe should have done this first, but whatever. For planning purposes…..

QOTD: Who is interested in a meetup? Suggesting Friday at 2 or 3 pm, for a beverage/snack. A chance to put a face and name to an avatar, and maybe find some pre-race support (well….except for those only doung the 5k).

If you are interested, please chime in. It’s not a commitment, just trying to figure out logistics.
