Secret "Things" in WWOHP.

If you'll be getting an interacrtive wand, don't forgot to hang onto the map that comes with it.

Knock turn alley is really the only place to reveal the invisible ink on your map. Unless you find somewhere else with a black light of course.

There are some spell locations that aren't listed on the map. Really keep your eyes on those store fronts pixiedust:

Thank you for that tip!!! My sons will definitely be getting their wands :-)

Thought it was 12 Grimmauld Place. It's the door that's not marked. To get Kreacher to appear knock on the door. and watch the window up top.

Professor Moody's trunk is in Borgin and Burkes. You can here it rattling about. It's under a table in the back left corner if you're looking at the register.

There's a book on Amazon of just WWOHP and Diagon Alley for Orlando. I have it and keep forgetting to use it.

Make sure you ride the train both ways. It's different on to and from Hogwarts. You can catch voldy on one of the rides but you really have to pay attention.

At the Castle- I believe it's the Potions class room if you listen you used to be able to hear someone talking to a student. Neville maybe? I always forget to stop and listen to that one.

Thanks for the tips!!! I Love Kreacher so I'll check that out for sure, along with the other tips. Is the Universal Book a guide to find hidden things(ex. like hidden mickeys)
3rding that Kreacher just appears.

Next up: READING the books. You will be amazed at how much the movies ignored and changed entirely. I'm re-re-re-re-reading currently (and re-reading them to hubby and son, who apparently like how I read them) and they are really good books.

That's definitely on my list to read the books!! :-)

The shrunken heads in Knockturn Alley sing a variety of songs. One is "Show me the way to go home" a tribute to Jaws the attraction that formerly occupied that location. There are also Jaws references at the bookstore in the London Waterfront.

That's interesting!! I'll check that out!

Hey this reminds me, we have this little LED blacklight flashlight. About 4 inches long. We use it to check for cat pee (don't ask) but it will be coming with us on our next trip. Thanks!

Thank you again to everyone that contributed to a great list of fun things to check out at WWOHP!!! As you can tell by my ticker, I am pretty much at the 2 week mark until I arrive!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: Excited is an understatement haha! I just wanted to bump this thread up one more time to see if anyone else has anything to add before I create a word doc on all things to look for!! :jumping1:

Just make sure to update and tell us about your experience! It would be interesting to hear! As last time I tried the phone it did not work, but things might be different this time around. Also, I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find something on your own. I've also seen articles posted about it, so if anything you can google perhaps and find even more for all I know.

I will definitely update once I return :-)

Is this something new? We have one and used a black light but never saw anything light up. :confused3

We saw a teen with his robe casting a spell in a location not listed on the map. He said there was a second one, but it was busy and we didn't find it. Thankfully, we have APs, so we will definitely be back!

I loved those shrunken heads! Spent a lot of time hanging around knockturn alley listening to them. And then there were some 'characters' hanging around in the alley.

Thanks for this. Our youngest daughter is so looking forward to seeing the Wizarding World, etc. Oldest sister was an even bigger Potterhead (I mean-- she was one of the originals as a kid on a huge Harry Potter role play-- whatever the offshoot of Veritaserum was called and she's still friends with a lot of folks from there 10 years later) but never wanted to go to Universal. So the remaining four of us (out of a family of six-- older kids are off to work and college) are really looking forward to our first trip to Universal. She'll be so excited to learn all these secrets.

You can hear Moaning Myrtle in the bathrooms in Hogsmeade.
The bathrooms in Diagon Alley look like the ones that lead to the ministry of magic. I had to specifically tell my 9yo not to try and flush herself down the toilet lol
When you first walk into Diagon Alley you can hear the sounds of the bricks moving like they did for Harry in the movie.
The music playing in Weasleys Wizard Wheezes is the same music from that scene in the movies.
We didn't do this last time, but I've heard in Kings Cross Station if you ask where platform 9 3/4 is you will get quite the response.

Reading this old thread for tips on universal and I have to ask how a black light helps with cat pee?! I currently have a cat pee situation. Sigh. I'd love a pm explaining.

I have two cats

Turn off the light in the room and shine the black light in the floor, rug, furniture, wall

Pee stain will show up and you will know where you need to clean scrub then

Cats return to where they pee and will do it again there

I'm the process now of finding where to scrub

Thank you / although I think I will be scared to put this to use. I also have 2 cats that are the devils with peeing outside the litter box. I wish I could find a way to make them stop
