I used to do these along time ago have been thinking about doing them again.

Do any of you do secret shops and who do you do them for and how fast and reliable are the companies?

thanks

Mal

I have never done this, so I would be interested in hearing what others have to say as well.

Great post, Mal! :)

I am interested too! Years ago I got an email to be one, but couldn't for the life of me get past their quiz!

Try shopncheck.com. they usually have mcdonalds and cellular companies.

I do mystery shops for Rare Hospitality (Longhorn Restaurants & Bugaboo Creek Restaurants).

If you want more info...check out this website...and if you have questions, let me know.

I've been reading volition.com and mysteryshopper.com, too. Just trying to decide if I want to try this. For those of you that do mysteryshop, how many of the different companies do you sign up for?

I started Shop and Check last month after reading about it. It seems great, I made $75 last month and I only did it for half the month! I look at it as extra money to spend for me :)
I just signed up for the other ones listed here, we'll see how it goes!

Everything is done through email. You sign up at their website and you can pick shops the same day. (At least I think I was able to) They pay every month and will do it by direct deposit or a check. I haven't gotten my first check yet, but it has been processed..yipee!
With them you choose which shops you want, so you can do 2 a day or 2 all week or 2 a month..you get the idea :) I would suggest giving it a try, if you don't like it you can always not choose any more shops.

I just signed up with Checkmark and actually am going to do a shop at lunchtime tomorrow for $13! Thanks for the link and the information!

Location is a critical issue for mystery shopping!

I've been with shopnchek for 3 months and only taken 2 shops.

I also shop for BestMark. You can find them at www.BestMark.com They have a limited number of shops for my area but LOTS for the Minneapolis area. More places where you get to eat out for free and they pick up the tab in exchange for your report than places where you make cash for pretending to shop. They are super about paying on time.

The best jobs I've done are focus groups--$100 for 2 hours of my time looking at a new rental car computer site or a marketing package for an insurance company. Those are great.

Anybody know which mystery shopping companies are located in Chicagoland?

I am interested in the patriot logo you had on your posting.
Thanks

I have been mystery shopping for over 5 years. It takes a while to get the GOOD assignments but now I'm really choosy about the assignments I accept. IT's not easy money, it's not lucrative, but it's a fun way to get out of the house and get a free meal/movie, etc once in a while. Check out www.tnsmi-tes.com for movie theater checks. I've seen three free movies in the past 10 days! BUT I signed up with them quite a while ago and they only just called me last week. They didn't have a need in my area til then. I will try to post more tips, companies, etc later. I've got to get ready for the day. Oh and I am SILVER CERTIFIED with MSPA - it was $15. It does make a bit of a difference from what I've heard from others. I have experience so that helps me as well. Without experience, I think the MSPA cert. is a must for some companies, as they give preference to those they have experience with and/or those who are certified. HTH:)

Try googling "FOCUS GROUP" and then your city or surrounding cities. The company I do focus groups for isn't national. HTH :)
