**Secret Santa 2009 ~ Sent/Received**

no sign of mine ether, hope they all arive before thursday.

Ok sort of changes the whole secret santa thing but i was your sender, ive only just checked this page being on hols and all, for some reason i had it in my head mine had arrived did you post you had a card or something??? im a bit worried now as this was sent ages ago way before i left and we left on the 12th, i dont have the card with me to look up the details either, im going to email my BIL to go round my house and check for the number so i can log in and check.

So sorry it hasnt come yet, bloody postal service.

i find the secret santa the hardest to keep track of as no one opens them straight away so theres no long line of pics to check...lol

Wow - fab gifts everyone! Those Minni hats are awesome!! :)

Madinat Jumeirah is amazing. Personally I prefer Dar Al Masyaf at Madinat Jumeirah over Al Qasr. I was lucky enough to tour both when I was on duty travel to Dubai in April 2008. I just wish I could afford to stay there.

Oooh, yeah I do like the houses too. Their bathrooms are wonderful, with the big tubs, but I just prefer the hotel feel to being separate in Masyaf. Plus the only Masyaf I'd want really would be the ones right on the beach. And I'm not a fan of ground floor. So although I loved it there, Al Qasr wins for me still.

How awesome you got a tour of them all! I've only been in Al Qasr and Masyaf rooms, never the 3rd resort....can't even think of it's name. But when I go back it'll be to Al Qasr. Nothing quite like seeing those golden horses! Lol.

Unless I can convince Jack of Atlantis the Palm......

Have a wonderful trip!!!!!!!

(Sorry to everyone else of the hijack and yakking!)

This years Secret Santa has been a bit of a nightmare, and it hasn't helped that some people didn't post on here that they had sent their gift, or that they'd received their gift, and one hasn't posted at all :confused3

Most people did post photos of their gifts when they opened them, and even photos of their unwrapped presents (which I did list)

I feel so bad that 4 people have not received their gifts. In the past when one gift has gone missing, then I have stepped in and sent an extra one, but I couldn't do 4

I really hope Andrea, Victoria H (she could've received hers but she hasn't been on-line in a while), Claire and Donna receive their gifts tomorrow :santa: ~ Girls, it might be worth checking your post offices again

I haven't received a card however if the item isn't claimed in 7 days it is sent back to the sender so hopefully it turns up to one of us.

The gift I sent hasn't turned up and I am tracking it daily and it is showing up in the royal mail system so it should get there at some point.
I hope it is by thursday, unfortunately it looks like there is a chance it won't arrive to after christmas.

 Mandy, nobody expects you to send replacement presents. You do a great job doing this ::yes::

I hope everybody recieves their gifts as soon as possible.

Sixth! :goodvibes Mandy, you're our little exchange star! No-one thinks it's your fault at all, it can't be helped that gifts go missing in the post :(

I do hope Victoria gets in touch with someone though, it's quite worrying it's been that long now

Mandy - absolutely no one blames you!

And you can't b expected to shell out £40 either.

What I propose is we wait until January and the backlog has cleared. (As I work for a mail order comapny and 1st class parcels have taken up to 11(?!?) working days in our experience this Xmas) And then whoever is let without a gift, we get divided into groups for each giftless person, and each send £1/£2 to make up £10+postage to a nominated person, who then shops and sends a gift to one of the non-recievers.

Also we can claim from the post office by then, so the person who did the shopping for the missing gift will be re-imbursed.

A lot of hassle I know, but we can't let the Royal Mail let people go without an exchange.

Yet another in agreement that Mandy shouldn't fork out due to Royal Mail's uselessness (Victoria's mysterious case aside).

The other alternative which is probably "simpler" (though it would take a little longer) is to claim for the lost item, then use the claim refund to repurchase and re-send it.

At least that way, there's no need to wait for money sent through the post, which could just as easily go walking :headache:
