I am in the midst of planning our family's must do's and would love for our little girl to be able to meet a couple of princesses. We can't afford a character meal this time around so I am wondering what other options we have.

Princess Fantasy Faire is always random? Is that right? Do you meet 3?

I have seen Snow White out in the backlot area with a shorter line... are there any other opportunities like that?

Also if we do go to Fantasy Faire how early would you recommend lining up before opening?? We are going during August so we know lines will be long. Thanks!!!

there is pixie hallow a place were you can meet tinkerbell and her friends..

The Drawn to the Magic show in DCA had Cinderella in it the time we watched it. Her prince showed up at the end to sign autographs with her.

Thanks - I had forgotten that fairies are now doing meet and greets... where is their spot at Disneyland? Thanks for the tip on the show as well. Does anyone know what time the fairy meet and greet opens everyday? Is lining up early a good idea there as well?

Pixie Hollow is down from the Alice bathrooms across from the backside of the Matterhorn. I would line up early for both PH and PFF. Lines move slowly and build quickly. I believe both open around 9 or 10 am and go until 5/6 pm. The Drawn to the Magic show always has a Princess (at least when I've been there), I think we saw Aurora last time.

We usually line up at PFF about 1/2 hour before they open. I was told they always start with the three main princesses last time I was there (Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White) and then rotate out every 30 minutes or so. We have been lucky enough to be randomly selected for special meet and greets with a princess or two in a side room of PFF twice which was amazing for my girls!

We saw Snow White standing outside of the animation building in DCA last time.

We always go to Drawn to The Magic in DCA and it's always been Cinderella as the princess for us.

We have seen Cinderella and her crew (fairy godmother, prince, etc) at the ticket entrance/Mickey flower area mid-day once.

On our last couple visits we've seen Jasmine and Aladdin outside of the area where they used to do the storytime, over by Tiki room kind of, even thought they don't do the storytime anymore. I think they have scheduled times throughout the day for meet and greets...or at least they did.

I believe if you check with City Hall, they can tell you where princesses will be at what time each day.

thanks - all this information is great! on the opposite idea of lining up early... does the line slow closer to 5 o 6 when it closes? Anyone ever tried this method over lining up early in case we aren't there right as it opens? Thanks - also - does that mean that you can't meat ariel as a mermaid right now?

We've tried PFF at the end of the day too and the line was shorter than the mid-day 2-hour wait but it was still a good hour+.

I don't think you can meet Ariel as a mermaid anymore now that they replaced her meet n greet area with the Fairy area. We haven't lucked out with seeing her at PFF either but I think she rotates in as a princess.

I saw Ariel (as a princess) at PFF in December, along with 2 other princesses, so I would imagine she still appears there.

I heard that Mulan and Pocahontas are both going to be over in DCA now that Tiana is in PFF. I can't swear that's true but I do know that we just happened across Mulan there in December; she was headed backstage, I believe, but was gracious in posing for a photo with my friend.

We saw Aladdin and Jasmine at Aladdin's Oasis (across from the Bengal Barbecue). We also saw Jasmine at PFF that same vacation, and we saw Aladdin (and I forget if Jasmine was there or not) in the Hollywood Backlot area.

For characters overall, at least in December (when it cloudy/rainy), the Hollywood Backlot area was just swarming with characters. I agree that the Drawn to the Magic show is a great opportunity to meet a princess, though you can't be sure which (I've heard reports of Cinderella and Aurora, more often Cinderella, which is who we saw). The show is cute enough too. :)

She's not a princess but Alice and the Madhatter play musical chairs over at the Coke Fountain on Main Street :) 2:30 pm everyday

Hopefully someone with personal experience will chime in on this, but I know I have read posts about the princesses being out in the front entrance area of DL (just inside the gates) in mid-late afternoon. I know I have read posts and seen pictures of one child with 3 princess in one picture because no one else was there waiting to meet.greet.picture
If no one else speeks specifically to my post, create a specific post abou t princesses just inside the entrance== or maybe try a search

On our latest trip to Ariels Grotto last week we actually met the big 4 (snow, cinder, aurora, and belle) as well as Ariel. On our previous trips we have never had met all 4 durring the same meal. Prior meals we met others like Pocahontas, mulan, jasmine, and princess Minnie. It would be nice if they standardize things and always have the big 4 so we know who to expect!

We saw both of them near Animation Academy in November, and at the same time met Mulan at PFF. So I don't think them appearing in DCA has anything to do with Tiana.

There was a time when you would find some princesses out near the Mickey floral around 3:00pm every day since they had to go get ready for the parade. But since Disneyland has been without a parade for the most part, I don't think they're by the floral as often.

I have seen princesses by the Mickey floral twice. People should be aware that they can get in line and not necessarily get to meet the character in that situation. I've seen a princess have to tell guests that she could only meet one more family when there were 10-15 people behind them.

The last time we saw princesses at the Mickey Floral was last March. It was a Sunday at about 3:00 (as Sleepless Knight said).
