Hi-
The search function is down-can anyone help answer these questions?
Are there secret porthole cabins on both the Magic and the Wonder? One website I went to only referenced the Wonder.

Has anyone been in them, and do they differ much? I have seen pictures, but just wanted to hear from the mouths of those with experience!

The first (and last) time we went, we booked an inside, but DH doesn't want to do that again (he is pretty claustrophobic), so I am looking for the next cheapest way to have a window!

If I am wanting to book next November, will I have a shot at these?

TIA

The ships are identical in layout, so the secret porthole rooms are in the same locations.
Remember, these are some of the most coveted rooms onboard, so if you're asking about Nov'04, it's very unlikely. Nov'05 is a possibility, but I'd make the ressie asap.

But they are not so "Secret" anymore!

You may still have a shot at them if you book soon.

It's great value for your money! The obstruction is very minimal.

Good Luck Getting it!

Thanks-
November '05 is my target! Can't manage this year unfortunately.
I just have to keep thinking "pixie dust, pixie dust"!

I would book this second, except Disney's system is down this weekend. :(
But I guess that means nobody else can get 'em either!!

Ouch! A month after what we would like. Well, we'll see what happens! It helps that I am flexible on dates, I guess. Thanks for the Pixie Dust!!

We stayed in 5522 on the Wonder and loved it! I wouldnt hesitate to get one again...it really is a great value.

I got a SPR for the Nov 04 cruise, calling ahead 11 months ahead thru DVC.

Got lucky with that...saved some points!!

So, do you just ask for the "secret porthole" room, and you will get an inside stateroom price ? Or do I specifically ask for room #5020 for example ? And, if I book through someone other than Disney do I have a chance at these rooms ? We will be sailing May '05.

I asked for the "secret portholes room" and the DCL CM laughed and knew exactly what i was talking about...

I don't know if all the DCL agents know about this but these are the specific rooms...

#5520, 5522, 5524, 5020, 5022, 5024

It is a cat 8 room for the price of cat 10 becuase of blocked view of the porthole windows. Your travel agent will have to specific ask for those rooms. You can call yourself and then transfer to your TA.

I know they are the first to go, but you never know, if you never ask.

Good luck!!

Also, i know there are cat 6 rooms for price of cat 7 but i am not sure what specific room it is, perhaps someone else might know.

7620, 7120 and 6634, 6134.......

these are the reclassified verandahs. You now pay a Navigator Verandah price but get a regular type verandah except that they have a slight obstruction because the wall is on an angle:rolleyes:. We travelled in one in January and loved it! I also have 7620 for the Repo Cruise next year! With the savings, I can have a couple of more souffles!

I just ask if they have any cat 10s available on deck 5. That covers all six rooms.
Good luck.

:wave2: I booked my trip thru a travel agent...he has been very helpful!!! But I have been doing "lots" of research and told him my preferrences---I specifically asked for the room I got...no one had inquired about them when I booked--18 mos out....I am so excited about our trip!!! It is myself and my 6 yr old (then 7) son...we have never cruised before....We are staying at the CBR for the land portion of our trip--and I added 4 add'l nites there.
