I snagged a SP cabin on deck 5 but there are now mid ship ovs for the same price. Would you choose an unobstructed view on deck two vs room 2022? Such a hard decision. Give me your thoughts. It is an 11 day cruise if that makes any difference.

If the seas are rough, there will be more sway in the forward deck 5 cabin, than in the midship deck 2 cabin. Deck 2 makes it very easy when returning from an excursion because it is only one floor up. The obstruction in 5022 is not bad, but it is present, the midship deck 2 room will be completely unobstructed.

Deck five will put you on the same deck as the kids' clubs and the movie theatre, and it's closer to the pool deck.

I've stayed in 5022 - the trip down one flight on the very-convenient-stairs to deck 4 loungers gave me the verandah "feeling"...
You won't have noise from the kids clubs (too far away) but it will be convenient if you have kids...(picking up my son when the club closed at midnight because he didn't want to leave was easier on this deck)
I know folks love deck 2 but I'd switch...imho

My daughter will be in the Tween club, not the kids club. Did you find the view very obstructed? I did switch but some mid ship 9Bs are now open at the same price.

We've only done 1 cruise so far, stayed in 2116 on the Wonder and loved the location--it was right at the aft elevators. I'd probably go with the mid-ship 9B over the obstructed porthole--less movement. I remember reading some trip reports from people who stayed in deck 5 obstructed portholes--you don't always have privacy with the curtain open as sometimes crew members are out there--even while out at sea.

This site has pics of the views from the obstructed portholes: http://www.disneycruiser.info/pics.htm

I would totally stay on Deck 2. We've stayed decks 6 and 2 and deck 2 is definitely our favorite. 2022 doesn't look midship to me. I would call that forward. I would still stay in that room versus the secret porthole on deck 5 any day, though.

Yup, the view is not as awesome as an unobstructed porthole...but compared with an inside room - not even close...but if a 9B is now open you've got lots of options
good luck deciding
here is a photo from our cruise - the bedspread and curtains show how long ago we were there

I would absolutely prefer an unobstructed view. No constest.

Thanks for all the opinions. We are going with the SPH room. It is $700 CAD less than the 9As further forward and my daughter likes the fact it is closer to the Edge as she usually takes the stairs rather then the elevator if she is alone. I would be happy with either. The obstruction doesn’t seem to be much and it also has the pull down berth my daughter loves. It is a lot bigger than the inside I changed from. I have had some feedback from others who have stayed in these rooms and generally they have been very positive. We are close to the PIF date so assuming someone cancelled or upgraded. I am just excited I will have some natural light. 11 days is a long time if you find you have claustrophobia.
