Hello-

I was curious if anyone has stayed in either of these secret porthole cabins on the Magic and could share a picture? Our agent says we were extremely lucky to get these 2 cabins and that it is in a relatively quiet location. Looks to be right by the elevators so don't know how quiet it will be. Also, just wondering how "obstructed" the view will be. Any input, comments would be appreciated.

Thanks!

My parents had one a couple of years ago. They had (I think) part of a life boat in front of the window. It was great that they had a source of natural light. We paid for (I think) a Category 8 next door for a regular porthole. I would have traded in a second for their room for the lessor price. We tried to get those rooms again, but the word must have spread because the secret porthole rooms were totally booked.

My family stayed in both these rooms. They were a great deal for the price. The 24 room will be more obstructed than the 22 view. You can completely see out of both windows, but there is infastructure over both openings.....but it is framework and I think barrell type of things. Definately not like a flat panel directly in front of the window. They were as sunny as any other porthole room, you just had to move around a little more to see specific points to the outside.

Hi Detroitdad: I was in 5524 on the Wonder two months ago. Great location. 5524 is closest to the elevators. There is no noise! Last September, my DH and I were on the Magic in 5520. 5520 has less obstruction. I'd take any SPH stateroom. Great value and location.

By the way, I lived in the Detroit area for the first 42 years of my life. We were transferred to Lansing 13 years ago, but are frequently in Detroit as we have many friends and relatives there.

We stayed in 5524 in May. It was a wonderful room. We were worried that because it was the same floor as the kids clubs we would hear a bunch of noise, but we didn't really hear anything. Deck 5 was perfect location for everything we wanted to do, didn't have to take the elevator once, the stairs worked out for us. I am sure you will love the rooms.
