Brian and I are in So Cal visiting my sister. We went to DL and Cars Land at CA. I will post pictures here when we get home. Hugs to all.

It has gotten quieter here with out you, but we have missed you! Your place still says Northern VA, but I know that is a lie!

We are in the wonderfull 100+ temps today & tomorrow. Might get back to the upper 80's by Next Friday! And the really sad thing... Krista is camping overnight at a nearby park in this. She did call & tell me she was hot, needed her shampoo caouse she isn't waiting until tomorrow to get in the shower, bring her flashllight, a water bottle and something else. Hmmm... but sleeping in a tent in this... not so much me!

We are lucky. We are at the end of our DL annual passes, and won't be renewing them. We paid $299 last year; they are now $469. It was fun while it lasted.
And, yes, we are going to WDW next month. Before my mom passed away in Sept. she told me she wanted us to use our inheritance to take our family to WDW. She had seen a travel show about, of all things, Beaches and Cream, and wanted us to go because she couldn't make the trip herself. My parents never made it to WDW, but they took the whole family (all 6 kids, until the older ones quit wanting to go) to Disneyland every year. Needless to say, I never quit wanting to go, and when my parents stopped taking me, I started taking myself. I know I am spoiled, but I really have very few vices.

Danielle, I love the story of your mom with WDW, and I hear ya on the AP's, I haven't 100% decided yet if we are renewing our WDW passes when they expire, Rick's is good till Feb, but the girls and I are in October, just not sure it is cost effective to keep the passes, or I may renew but change mine to a seasonal pass like the girls have. Rick's is a full a/p so gets the parking free too. We are definitely keeping Busch Gardens, as it is local to Tampa so we can go there easiest, and will likely keep Universal for the time being since the only pass we paid for there so far is mine (which is renewing this month), Rick and the girls got theirs from my family as Christmas gifts. I will likely end up alternating between Disney and Universal every other year at some point, though.

We're at a beach house our friend rented. It's north of SF and pretty chilly. I'm wearing a sweatshirt, believe it or not. We might go inland to the Russian River for swimming in the next couple of days. It's supposed to be 85 at the river.

Right now we have been without power for 66.5 hours and I am miserable... We drove to the local applebees and are enjoying a cold beer, A/C and free wifi....

I feel like rushing out to buy stock in beer, but I guess that would be profiteering. To paraphrase the most interesting man, "Stay cool, my friend."

We gave in and booked a hotel room...air is now on 68 degrees.

Brandi, hope they get your air working, I don't blame you for going to a hotel, it sucks not being able to get cool!

Heather, I agree, we are able to go a LOT more now, and really if we trade off years, we will focus our time at the park we have the ap in, so it will be a better investment, I think. I am planning to take Rick to the F&W festival before our passes expire in October, and we may do a day trip and pay for resident tickets to see Osbourne lights (which we have never managed to see despite going the first 2 times in December), not sure about that one, we could always hold that off till next year if we wanted, I suppose.

We are going to my parents for the 4th, currently the plan is to spend the afternoon at the pool, then grill out for dinner, probably play a few hands of cards before the neighborhood lights up.

We were without power all of Friday and Saturday but we got it back Sunday morning, we were in a hotel as well. This weather has been CRAZY, ridiculous hot!

Still Northern VA for now

We were without power all of Friday and Saturday but we got it back Sunday morning, we were in a hotel as well. This weather has been CRAZY, ridiculous hot!

It has been so hot!!! We were laughing the other night, because we are going to Vegas for a few days in August and were questioning our sanity, but it's actually cooler in Vegas than it is here in PA right now!

We got power back late yesterday and I have been enjoying the A/C while throwing out food and cleaning the fridge and freezer....

The temp is much better here now. Hanging in the upper 70's to mid -80's with a breeze!!

Jeff turned 16 on sunday and I dropped him off at his last camp of the summer. will get him tonight. Kinda different cause they didn't let them have any electronics. they would contact us if needed. so very quiet!

And last night was so special!! Krista stayed the night with a friend, so I got to be in the house ALONE!! course after 10 minutes on the couch and 5 minutes getting comfy on the bed, I was asleep! But I did come home to 30 minutes of non nagging, get ready to go quiet this morning between jobs! The first I have had since Bill passed. AHHHHH!

I took tomorrow off and a few ladies & I are going to Water country to float around for a bit. Who knows what else, but it'll be fun! And then a massage on Saturday. What bliss!!!!

I too am getting a massage on Saturday.

The place down from my house has a program where you can join their club and get a massage once a month every month, no fee to join or to quit, but it $59 a month.

You get a 90 minute deep tissue (or what ever you want) and I found that I really look forward to going, so I joined and now go once a month and it is so relaxing.
